Chapter 3 - Lies adding on to lies

Ryan POV

I was watching carefully through the window as Lee was holding what seemed to be my mate's name, Annetta hand. She was unconscious due to the drugs that had been given to her.

"Alpha," Evan called over. I took one last look before talking with the doctor.

"So what seems to be the problem?"

"She has a few broken ribs, bruises, She hasn't eaten nor drank, and she had a miscarriage." My eyes widen to that.

"Miscarriage?"

"It gets worse. She has this ugly looking bite on her neck. Alpha, I think Lee has been abusing her..."

"We have no proof, Doc. I can't instantly punish him in less she confesses," I sighed.

"Isn't it obvious, Alpha?"

"Evan, please... not right now."

"One of your pack members is being abused, and you're not taking action on it?!"

"Now, now Evan. That's no way to talk to your Alpha." it was Jon.

"Beta Jon, how nice to see you." Well, that was nice sarcasm...

"Still not over the break up, I see?" He grinned.

I rolled my eyes. "Showing off that you have a mate doesn't make you better than me, Jonathan!"

"That's Beta to you, Doc."

"Gentleman, do please be nice to each other. It's been over a year now."

"Well, I'm gonna get back to Annetta. Do keep in mind what I said, Alpha Ryan. "

"Will do Evan." he nodded and excused himself.

"Gotta love seeing the ex."

"Be nice he's the best doctor we have in this pack."

"I know, but c'mon," he opened the double door to get through. "It's fun he giggled.

"Well, fun is over. I need you, Bryce, and Luke in my office. I'm gonna talk to Annetta and Lee. Be there when I'm back."

"You got it, Alpha," he dismissed himself as I walked into Annetta room. Happily seeing her awake.

"Alpha Ryan," Lee bowed.

"Take a seat,"

He sat back down.

Both Annetta and I made eye contact. She looked away, which pained me.

"Now in charge and knowing the sickness of my pack members. I usually visit them. Ask them a few questions, and then we're done. Understood?"

They both nodded.

"Now Annetta, one of my doctors says that the markings on you look like you are being abused, is that correct?"

She slowly shook her head no.

"Then do you care to explain what they are?"

"I hurt myself..." she sounded unsure, but I let it pass.

"I try my hardest to look after her Alpha. She's suicidal and harmed our baby in progress. I try to make her eat."

"And the bite? You do know that it is illegal to do that, it effects the mate bonding and the pairing. It could affect me or any of my unmated men."

"She forced me to forgive me, Alpha."

"Very well, I'll leave you to it. Do get well, Annetta. " I left them to it.

Annetta POV

As soon as Alpha Ryan left, Lee started chuckling to himself. "Oh, he believed it. How stupid of him, too."

I was staring at the opposite side to him.

"Are you even listening?!" He grabbed my cheeks, making me look at him. "This is your fault we're even in this situation!"

"I told you I was ill..."

"Did I tell you to speak back?!" I shook my head. "Well then, listen!" I slowly nodded my head.

Maybe... Maybe I should tell Alpha Ryan the truth... Will he do something?

'Our mate will, and try Beta Jon. He'll teach him a lesson, I want to see that!' My wolf giggled.

He is quite psychotic...
