Whenever Cat was nervous or embarrassed she would pretend that whatever had happened or will happen was happening in a book. She would think in her head how it would be described in a book. Like that time when Cat had no one to sit next to at lunch. Cat would choose a random name for the main character and then she put herself in the scene through their eyes .....matt walked towards his table with his friends. He walked past a girl with blonde hair and green eyes sitting by herself. He moved past her and sat with his friends not even giving the girl a second glance. Strangely it made Cat feel better to know that people would forget her, not even give her a second thought. But what was happening now did not make her feel good or even okay. Her mom had gone missing last night and one one cared,not even the police. Everyone acted as if her mom had never existed. But everyone had known Cat's mother, they either loved or hated her, but they at least knew her. Cat's mom was like Nanny Mc.phee always there when you didn't need her and never there when you did.
Last night had been a blur to Cat. She remembered that both her mom and her dad had to work late so Cat ordered pizza and watched a movie. Her mom got home after her dad. Cat and her dad had never been close, not that they didn't like each other. Cat just didn't go as far as love. When Cat's mom did get home she was as moody as always. One minute she was happy the next she was sad. You could never tell, it was like riding a roller coaster. Cat stayed up in till 12:00 am and then she went to sleep. She woke up to her dad stomping around the house calling her mother's name.
"What's wrong? What happened", Cat asked
"your mom s-she's gone", Her dad replied
Cat thought it was funny that every time someone asked her what happened she said exactly that. Same words and same speed. Every word Cat said was true. However she left out a lit bit of the story, just for herself because Cat knew one thing that no one else was every going to find out, she was going to take it to her grave. At least that
was Cat's plan.
Sadly her mom had other plans
