Jack stone did not believe in magic. And why would he? He was a man of science. When he was six years old his parents took him to a magic show. When the magician performed a familiar trick Jack yelled out, "that's a fake!!" Jack and his family were sent home, but Jack felt accomplished.

One day Jack arrived at school to see his best friend Chloe leaning against his locker. Chloe and Jack were polar opposites. Chloe always thought there was magic somewhere . Often Jack would get annoyed.

"What is it?" Jack asked, shoving her aside to open his locker.

"I'm the lead role in the school play. Not that you care."

"Why wouldn't I care?" Jack said confused. Chloe laughed and walked away. Jack was annoyed. Chloe did this way too often.

Then suddenly Jack felt a sudden force pulling him towards his locker. The door shut with a slam when Jack was inside! "HELP!" Yelled Jack. But no one seemed to care.

Jack heard the five minute bell and began to panic. "Someone please!" He said. Still no one helped him. Then he heard a shrill, high voice saying, "What's your locker combination?"

"20 26 36"

Jack said. Then finally the door creaked open. It was his science teacher, Mrs. Krosgov.
"Who did this?" She said looking angry. Jack had to think of something and quick.
"I uh, tripped." He said.  What a stupid answer! He thought.  Mrs. Krosgov looked at him suspiciously.
"Very well." She said. Get to class.
As Jack walked to class one question ran through his head. "What just happened?"
