NOTE: Picture above is not mine!!! Also, I know this is a short beginning, but I don't want to waste my time with typing out the whole thing if no one even likes this much of it, you know? Anyways, thank you for reading my bit of randomness!! There is more, so if you want to read more, let me know in the comments below! Thank you again, and enjoy!!

My name is Wells Gilmore, and I have a problem. Well, I mean, I have many problems, but this one in particular concerns me most of all. I'm in love with my best friend, Ingrid Griffin. I realize that doesn't appear to be a problem, but I assure you, it's worse than it seems. There are many other problems entangled within this one.

For one, Ingrid has several off-and-on boyfriends. Big buff athletic dudes. Let's just say that that wouldn't bode well for me if I tried anything with her. I mean, I'm not a little guy really, I just don't look like I'm addicted to steroids like these guys. Problem number two: I have a girlfriend. Kaity Spencer. Okay, so I'm not a complete slimeball like it looks like I am, I would never cheat on Kaity, not even for Ingrid.  I'd breakup with Kaity first. Okay, that sounds bad.  I'm not a heartless jerk, I promise. Kaity is one of my friends, I wouldn't do that to her. That's one of the reasons I haven't. Another problem with this entire ... thing  is that I don't even know if Ingrid would go for it. I mean, I'm me, she's her, we've known each other for years. Sometimes I wonder how we're even friends, I mean, we're polar opposites in almost every way possible. I have shaggy hair dark as midnight, she has wispy blond locks as bright as heaven. I have dark brown eyes that almost appear to be black, she has sparkling sea-green eyes. She's a social butterfly and isn't afraid to tell people what's on her mind. Let's just say I'm not even close to being like that.

We do however have one thing in common, but it's our biggest problem. She's magical. Like with actual magic; I am too. There aren't a lot of our kind in our small town, Stillwater, so we've always known and kept each other's secret. The thing is though ... Ingrid and I should hate each other. We're different breeds of magical beings. Her kind and my kind have been at war for centuries. If one of her people so much as sees any of my people, they're to kill them on sight, and vice versa. The sad part is that I don't think either of our kinds even remember why we're fighting anymore. But Ingrid and I are best friends despite our people's feud. Me being in love with Ingrid is a bad idea on all accounts, but where we're supposed to despise one another ... this makes me loving her dangerous
