"Dude! Let go of the ball!" Chad said before he pulled the basketball out of Troy's hands. He resisted a little but finally let go. His hand felt too empty that he wanted to grab something, even his own bow tie.
"But I'm nervous!" Troy answered.
"I know. It's your wedding day. You should be. But you know what you shouldn't be... holding that ball while you're walking down the aisle."
"Ok. Ok."
Suddenly Ryan face popped into the room.
"Hey guys! Its time," he said with a big smile and went out the room.
The groom and his best man felt the excitement and joy that overflowed their body.
"You can do this man. Just... don't trip while you walk," Chad grabbed his friend's shoulders tightly while Troy smile back at him.
The Chappelle was filled with people, mostly friends and families. Troy greeted them along the way to his position. Not so long that the Chappelle door opened again. Troy felt like his breath has been taken away as the picture of Gabriella in a white dress appeared to his eyes.
"You look so beautiful," he said gently as she approached him.
Gabriella smiled back at him. He always thinks that her smile is the most beautiful thing he ever saw, but today her smile is even more beautiful than ever.
After they exchange their wedding vow and kiss, the crowd cheered and applauded loudly. Confetti and flowers scattered in the air.
At night the wedding reception after party was held at the backyard of the bride and groom's new house which they bought it just few months ago.
"You know when I was a kid, I always imagined what my wedding would be like," Gabriella said while dancing in Troy's arms. After a little grin, he gave her an overacting curious face which made her laugh.
"So... does this come any close to your dream wedding?"
"Well, well, well."
"Oh! That doesn't sound hopeful."
Gabriella giggles. She looked into his bright brown eyes and said, "It's more than I ever dreamed of."
As a result, Troy couldn't resist his desire to kiss her so he followed what his heart wanted. Then both of them heard a loud cheering from behind which they bet is definitely their former Wild cat team.
For a while Gabriella popped up a question, "remember when we first met?"
"Karaoke," Troy answered with a big smile. "I remember there's a guy who said to me 'you'll thank me someday', he's the one who chose us. Now I think he's right. I should really thank him."
"May be we should do that too."
"Do what?" he asked curiously.
"Karaoke in our wedding! I'll pick a girl and you'll pick a boy."
When Troy looked into Gabriella sparkling eyes he couldn't say no to her, and he thinks he never will.
"Ok."
"Great! I'll talk to Kelsi."
Then he saw Gabriella jogging to Kelsi who standing next to Ryan beside a grand piano. Both of them volunteered to play music for their wedding free of charge even though they are now famous Broadway directors. In a second Taylor came to joined them. Taylor is now a CEO of renowned corporation which she also volunteered to organize their wedding. Troy couldn't be happier for them and for himself; they reduced a lot of his wedding expenses.
Every wildcat member came to their wedding except for Sharpay, who is now a famous Broadway actress, due to her performance schedule. However, she was video calling both of them just a minute before her performance.
In less than a minute, Gabriella walked back to him. Troy was chatting with Chad, who is now a basketball coach at East High, when she pulled him up on stage with him.
"Have you picked anyone yet?" she whispered as they walking up to the stage.
"Ah huh," Troy answered. But in fact he didn't. No one has come up in mind yet, so he'll just pick someone he sees.
The crowd turned their attention to both of them as Troy grabbed a microphone.
"Hi! Having a good time?"
"Yeah!" the crowd answered joyfully.
"As you know, Gabriella and I met each other through karaoke singing. So we thought it would be nice to replicate that scenario again, but this time we will be the one to choose from our guests."
The crowd cheered even more loudly.
"You go first my lovely wife," Troy whispered to Gabriella which she answered with a big smile and took microphone from his hand and said, "Thank you."
"Umm... Erin"
Then the lights shined down on a young teenage girl. Her brown eyes wide opened with surprise. Her black hair swung as she looked around rapidly, hoping that there will be another Erin. She looked at Gabriella with pitiful eyes while the crowd pushed her to the stage.
"Why are you guys doing this to me? You know I don't like singing in front of people!" Erin muttered as she faced Gabriella and Troy.
"Honey, there's nothing to be afraid of. You're my new neighbor. You're parents not here either. No one here knows you," Gabriella explained.
Erin looked at them desperately.
"Now, who will be singing a duet with Erin? Let's see..." Troy looked around the room until his eyes fixed on one person.
"Derek! Yeah it's you!"
A young teenage boy accidentally spilled his drink on his friend when his name was called. He looked back at his cousin who's pointing at him on the stage with tiresome eyes.
Troy winked at them when there're both on the stage.
"You'll thank me later. Well, I guess."
And the bride and groom went off the stage. Two of the victims glared at each other nervously. And as the music started, some couples were heading to the dance floor.
"Awww! They look just like us back then," Gabriella said with a giggle.
Troy pulled her close and made way to the dance floor, then said, "Just like kindergarten."
"Yeah, just like kindergarten."
Derek smirked as he heard the sound of a piano. He knows this song too well. Last summer he had to stay at Troy apartment for three weeks and this two idiot lovebirds sang it more than a hundred times. Luckily they were just in that 'moment' after Troy proposal that it lasted only a week. But for him, a week is devastating.
"Living in my own world, didn't understand. That anything can happen when you take a chance."
Derek was about to go off stage as he signaled his friend who loves to sing to replace him, but he suddenly paused when he heard Erin voice.
"I never believe in, what I couldn't see. I never open my heart..."
"Oh oh," Derek turned around and sang. This time he looked closely in Erin eyes, but she avoided him immediately.
"... To all the possibilities," Erin was trying hard to focus on her part, but with Derek intense gaze, it was hard to ignore him.
The song continued as the singers felt more comfortable with each other. Derek never felt the joy of singing this much before. And he thought he might actually like it. On the other hand, Erin felt less insecure while singing with him. Suddenly, she didn't seem to notice anyone else other than the two of them.
"They look cute together," Gabriella said in Troy arms.
"At least they're enjoying themselves."
The song now coming to the end, Gabriella and Troy looked into each other eyes and started to hum along.
"The start of something new."
