"There I fell for 'the line' of a 'henchman,'
A professional killer from 'Chi;'
I couldn't help loving him madly;
For him even now I would die."~Bonnie Parker, "The Story of Suicide Sal"
The car was caked in acid, oil dribbling down the walls of our automobile, mixing with the blood pooling on the ground. Bonnie writhed in agony, the muscles of her leg trembling and tightening, the acidic mark on her leg violently loosening. Blanche took cover in the backseat, tending to Buck's head wound. I heard cries from the backseat, not bothering to care who's it was, just doing my job. Shooting and driving, shooting and driving, shooting and driving. Bullets rained on the small, rickety automobile, shouts arising from the other shooters. The Ford V8 whizzed along as a bullet lodged itself in my arm, another in my shoulder, and another in my chest. I coughed up blood, becoming dizzy, wheezing for breath until my vision turned dark maroon. Then the memories came, just as I saw Bonnie's limp, lifeless body collapse.
