It was just like any other day. I woke up the the alarming sound of my blaring music and birds chirping in Jacksonville, Florida. I checked my phone and five minutes later I was up, out of bed and started to get ready for school. My sister, Olivia, came into my room to say goodbye before my mom took her to daycare. After, I continued to get ready and then headed to my bus stop about 1/2 a mile away. I was surrounded by beautiful trees and gravel roads. It was always nice this time of day. I sat outside with a few friends until the bus arrived. After about an hour we finally got to my school. Walking to my first class, I already was hearing yelling and screaming from other students. I've always ignored all the drama and bullying at my school. It doesn't bother me. However, it seems like there isn't a way to stop it. It's like almost uncontrollable.
I started talking to my closest friend Liam, he didn't seem the same today. He was staring at the ground with an obviously fake smile on his face. Also, he was talking really quietly, so naturally, I asked what was going on. He responded, but I couldn't hear him over the sound of the other kids talking.
I said " we should go out to eat later. We can talk there."
He said "okay"
And we went our own ways.
After school that day, Liam told me he didn't feel like going out and I could just come over to his house instead. When I got there we both sat on the couch and then put on our favorite movie, The Fault in Our Stars. He started to tell me that he was getting bullied and about how he has been really depressed lately. He said he was getting beat up too.

"McKenna this has been going on for a few months now. I can't handle this anymore. I can't tell anyone because they won't believe me. They will think I'm making it up for attention. I hate being alone because all I do is think and I don't want to go to school anymore" , he said.
"Liam, you have to remember that those people are the ones who want attention. You just have to ignore them sometimes. You could also go talk to a council..."
"NO! I CAN'T GO TALK TO A COUNCILOR!" , he shouted "you know I have tried that before. You know that... what? What are you looking at?" He replied.
I saw something on his arm. In disbelief I said, "Liiiiammm what are those... are those scars? Liam?"
