I have been gone for a month, and I am terribly sorry.  I have another story that I haven't published yet that I am working on.

Sorry for the delay, and let the party begin.

The lights around me flash bright blue and purple. I see the bride changed her gown into a short party dress and is having the time of her life dancing in the middle of a crowd. I smile and walk over to get a drink.

"Tequila?" I hear Frankie ask when she takes a seat next to me. I nod and down my first shot of the night.

"I can have a few, it's vacation." I say and scan the crowd. I want to find Theo. I keep scanning, but I cant find him.

"He's outside on the deck." She answers my unasked question.

"Thanks." I mutter and walk around the sweaty bodies of people in their thirties, gross, and find the door to the back deck. Before I can slip out an arm catches my wrist. I quickly turn around to see an older man.

"Um, hello." I say over the music, which has turned to a slower song. The man looks familiar, but I cant place his looks.

"Hi, I'm sure you don't remember me. I'm Theo's uncle, Ron." Then it hits me and I nod.

"Yes, I remember you."

"Yeah, well, I wanted to thank you." I frown at him.

"For?"

"Theo has always been closed off and isolated. I can remember when he wouldn't talk or smile at any of the family gatherings. Today was the first time I saw that child smile in about 10 years." Ron smiled and pulled me into a hug. "He whispered in my ear, I can see that you make him really happy."

My cheeks tinged pink as Ron pulled away. Well I'm off to find my wife, I'm sure I'll see you around. And he walked off.

I make Theo happy? I know he makes me really happy.  I guess maybe I do kind of make him happy.

But does he feel the same way about me as I do him? I need to figure that out. Soon. But right now I need another drink. God, I think I'm becoming an alcoholic.

I go back to the bar and order another shot of Tequila and down it fast. Before I can change my mind, I go out on the deck.

There are a lot of people smoking out here. I spot Theo by the railing looking out over the water talking to an older gentleman. I stand still and look at him and let the alcohol cloud my mind. He sees me and says his goodbye to the man and walks over to me.

"Hey." Theo says and wraps his arm around my waist. I breathe in his scent and meet his eyes.

We need to talk. I was about to say but then I thought about all the people and the party. I didn't want to talk about this at the party.
