Walter was sitting down on the stairs on the front porch of his house. He was very sad. Being back here for Megan's funeral opened the still raw wound her death has caused him. That wasn't even the most depressing part. After all this time, he still hasn't fulfilled Megan's wish. He still isn't with his love. He loved Paige more than anything. Even more than Scorpion. He let her go though. He's too late. Now he may never be with Paige. That is what got him so bummed. His father noticed and came over. Walter and his father have been on better terms ever since Megan's death.

"Ya okay son?" he asked.

Walter wasn't in the mood nor did he have the energy to lie to his father.

"No," was all he said.

"Care to explain?" his father asked.

Walter really didn't want to explain his failed love life to his father, but he knew he was just making an effort. He had to give him credit for that. And maybe, just maybe he had some good advice.

"The memorial of Megan's death reminded me of her last words, Don't be afraid to love. I still haven't fulfilled that wish. I pushed the woman I have feelings for away and now it's too late. I'm never going to be with her," Walter explained.

"O so this about Paige?" his father assumed.

"Huh what?" Walter didn't ever say anything about Paige.

"Walter I could tell ya had feelings fer that liaison when me and yer mom visited Megan," he stated," What happened?"

"Now she's dating Tim," he said having a disgusted tone for Tim.

The tone by which he said Tim's name did not go unnoticed by his father.

"Aah. How serious is it?" he asked.

"I'm not quite sure. I do know she met his parents and I'm 85% sure they haven't been intimate yet. I promised Tim I'd stay out of it though," Walter said.

"The parents eh? Well it sounds to me, that they ern't that serious. Walter, ya have to tell her how ya feel," his father encouraged.

"The last time I tried it turned out to be a disaster. Paige said we wouldn't discuss it until she said she wanted to discuss it. I promised I wouldn't talk about it anymore. Part of my promise ,that was implied, was that I can't tell her my feelings," Walter explained.

"Well how ya feel?" he asked.

"I love her..... I'm in love with her," Walter admitted.

Walter's father couldn't be more proud. He's never heard the word "love" ever come out of his son's mouth. To be in love is even better. It's unfortunate it has to be this way though. He needed to find a way to help his son.

"How long has it been since yer fight?" he asked.

"A couple months," Walter answered.

"Has she fergiven ya?" he also asked.

"It seems so," Walter replied.

"Try this. Tell her how ya feel. If it's too late it's too late. At least ya won't die knowing what if," his father advised.

"You're right," Walter said.

"I'm proud of ya," he said patting Walter on the back.

A few seconds passed. When it was obvious Walter wasn't going his father became concerned.

"Are ya going er what? he asked.

"I'm scared," Walter said.

"Walter, just do it," he said. Walter remembered when Happy used those exact words when he attempted to ask her out. He remembered what a disaster that was. He wasn't going to make that mistake again.
