Hidden
There is a spicy autumn chill
dancing in the midnight
breeze
The shadows,
spinning with
inky secrets,
Enfold
long, pale fingers
looping around a
sappy sycamore
limb and
Glittering green
jewels
flit left, right,
left, right
From beneath the
ruffled lashes that
Mimic the swaying
fronds
Ruptured breaths
Lift a leather clad chest
Streaming past
flushed pink lips
Enduring the snag of
roaming incisors
A rapid quiver
crashing against the
Soft, warm husk of
a thrashing heart
Nostrils flaring,
sensing danger is about to
Whirl into sight
beyond the
Pulsing,
Twirling,
Wheeling darkness
Where the silver river
of moonlight
Can find no cracks to fill
Where secrets are
Hidden,
Disguised in the
shadows
Determined to
Disappear into
Nothing
Like the
one that hides
when she
is uncertain of being
Discovered
And all she wants to do is
Dissolve into
obscurity with a
Racing heart and
Bite her lip and
pretend that she is safe
in the embrace of
a sappy sycamore and
Let her lashes dart
left, right, left right
Until she is nothing and
nothing is her
Until the spicy autumn breeze
departs her
Desire and it dances on the wind
with the danger she was
trying to escape.
