Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!! SMACK! "Get up, get up you say, time to start another day", I yelled at the alarm clock. "Ugh, why can't I just sleep my life away", I whine. I look around my room, grey walls with lights, few pictures of my friends and I. "Well let's hope today will be great" I say. As I actually finally managed to pull my ivory warm comforting cover of my cold body, my Aunt yelled,' Amara are you ready?' "NO I just woke up", I hollered!
'Time to get dressed!' And yes I do talk to myself.! Slowly walking to my bathroom, I started to think of how this school year would be like. If some drama queens would change, or if I would have any classes with my friends. I haven't talked to them in a while over the summer, because I've been in Europe.
But I quickly turned on the lights, and looked at myself in the mirror and almost screamed!. "Oh it's just me! " Examining myself in the mirror I grabbed my toothbrush and started briskly brushing my teeth. Finally done with washing my face and brushing my long brown hair, and doing what every girl does in the bathroom, I head out and drag my feet across the dark hard wood floor to the closet!
Deciding what I was going to wear for the first day of school, I chose a pair of blue Aero jeans, a Hollister sweatshirt, and then some gray vans to finish the look. "No it's the first day of school, maybe I should dress up!."
I take everything off, and decided for something more elegant and dressy. "Hmm, maybe a light pink short dress with some white converse?" Changing quickly, cause I don't have much time left to get ready, I grab a white scarf to finish the look! I glance in the mirror, now time for makeup! A girls best friend, right?!
It doesn't matter if I put on foundation or not cause I still get pimples even if I don't use it. So.. I put it on! Dabbing 'sand beige' on my face, I take a break and turn on some music, it can get very boring doing make up.! Putting on the song (Guys my Age) by Hey Violet. "Oh my FREAK, EVERY TIME, I always get mascara on my nose", I moaned. Taking my blush pallet and my makeup brush, then slowly adding blush to my cheeks.
Applying a little bit of lip gloss, I grab my back pack and head down stairs. But before I did I glanced at myself from the mirror by the stairs, well I actually looked good.
"Are you going to eat my famous chocolate chip pancakes?!" " No thanks Aunt Diana, I'm trying to stay healthy and not gain five pounds in one day! Thanks though, I appreciate it." She groans putting her head down. "Well is there anything else you would want to eat?" I always feel bad for saying no to Diana sometimes, but you gotta do what you gotta do! " How about you make me a blueberry smoothie?!" I beg. "Oh no problem", she says with a hint of joy!
After waiting a while for Aunt Diana to finish my smoothie, one of my friends finally decides do call me! Hmm.. How convenient. I end the call , not to be rude, but just cause I really don't want this to be a busy morning! "Amara, I made an attempt!" she says with a look of hope on her face. Surprised by drinking the smoothie, it was good, like really good! Which was kinda strange, cause Aunt Diana can't make things very well! Besides her famous pancakes and baking! " It's splendid Aunt Diana!", I commented. "REALLY?!", she cheered. "Yea!", I replied back.
"See you later Diana, I have to catch the bus now!", I said sadly. " I understand, goodbye Amara!" "Goodbye." I walk out waiting for my sweet ride....
Waiting. Waiting.. And well still waiting, for the bus to arrive at my house. Five minutes pass by, I'm standing outside probably looking like I'm wanting some random guy to come and grab me. Turning around to walk back to the house, thinking Diana should just take me to school, I finally hear the yellow, long bus making its way towards me. I turn back around aggravated, and quickly walk back to my previous spot, from where I was waiting for the bus. The bus comes to a complete stop and I hear all the children's hollers and yells. " Well this will never change!", I said quietly so no one would think I'm weird talking me to myself. Not paying attention to where I was stepping, I tripped over the steps and scraped my leg. "Are you alright?" the bus driver asks with a wry smile upon his lips. Why did he look at me that way? Is he the new bus driver? Oh well.. Looking up at him in a cheerful way, I answered "Never been better!" And finished walking up the stairs to an empty seat.!
Glancing around fast finding a place where I can sit myself down and take a look at the scrape on my leg. When I take a few glances I realize I'm really out of options to sit!
Ok ,so there's a girl that looks like she's goth, stating by her outfit! Or my second option is to sit by this little girl who's starting at me nonstop! Ugh!! That's one thing I can't stand, little kids starring at me! As for my last option is to sit by the most popular guy in school Archer Lancaster who has a slutty girlfriend and was my neighborhood friend ,but he moved and we never talked since. He has his crowd, and I have mine.
Sighing I make up my mind by choosing to sit by him. Slowly sliding my way down to the empty space right next to him, worrying if he'll tell me to move, or just give me a dirty look. Maybe I was wrong about him. He just scooted closer to the window, and didn't say a word. Ooo that's a good sign... I think.. Right?!
Some minutes passed, I still continued to keep my head down, trying not to stare at anything, cause I have a bad habit of that.! Rapidly I started tapping my finger against my leg! Oh yea my leg! Looking down I see blood still running down. "Crap!", I say forgetting that Archer was even there! He looked over at me with confusion, wanting to know what went wrong. I looked at him, I froze....
I never realized how gorgeous his face was, in school he never talked to me, so I never talked to him. Every time I saw him coming down the hallway by himself or with his friends, I always kept my head down. And today was the first time I actually seen him close up. He is beautiful.I thing I can't stop thinking about though... why is he on the bus? Had he always rode this bus? No! He has his own car, so why is he riding the bus?
