Skykit and Lionkit were now officially six moons old, which meant that they could now go by Sky and Lion.
Birdclaw had recovered enough to hunt, but SilverShadow still insisted he stayed cautious. "So, Lion and Sky, how do you feel?" Birdclaw asked happily as he watched them scamper around the den. "Isn't it nice? Next thing you know, you'll have your full name!"
SilverShadow grinned. "Not anytime soon I'm afraid!" Lion laughed.
Nearby, a rabbit was eating berries from a bush. Sky took this chance to improve her skills, and crouched silently behind it. Only a few meters away, she waited for the right moment.
Lion and Birdclaw watched as she pounced, but it was not successful. Her claws brushed against the rabbit's back as it scampered away. Sky growled.
Birdclaw smiled. "At least you tried, Sky." He mewed, stretching his legs. Lion flicked his tail towards the bush where the rabbit disappeared and laughed. "At least you scared it."
Sky twitched her whiskers unhappily and padded over to her mother. "Silver. Wasn't that your name at first?" She asked, hoping to keep the subject off of her former fail. SilverShadow looked up surprised.
"Well, yes... I suppose you could say that." She replied, lying her tail across her paws. "But, I'd rather not talk about that, Sky. How about you? Let's talk about your improvements!"
Sky frowned. "You know, I don't feel any different. I'm just as bad at hunting as I was as a kit. Maybe I should be a medicine cat."
SilverShadow growled. "Loners do not have a choice, Sky." She explained. "Plus, you have to realize that you haven't even had any training with it. Birdclaw will show you all you need to know."
