We stopped at a little burger joint called Burgers Galore and ate. As I ordered in front of Landon I could feel his eyes on me. What was he doing trying to memorize every detail of me so he could spread more rumors? No. I thought to myself. He's different now. Right? I shook the thoughts away so I could tell the lady what I wanted. "1 McDouble with no onions, extra pickles, and a small Dr. Pepper, please." Landon tapped my shoulder. "Not much of an appetite, eh?" "No, I guess not." I shook his hand off. I thought I had a huge crush on this guy? Wrong. But now I'm gonna need a big shovel to dig myself out of this hole.

I watched her like a hawk, and I think she was starting to notice. She looked uncomfortable around me. "Hey, you okay?" I asked her. "Yes." She answered short and fast. I could tell she didn't want to be here, she was making it very clear. "You know what, Ali? I try to do everything I can to make you forgive me for what happened. And you know what you do? You don't even acknowledge it?! You don't! I mean, I'm sure you do but you just ignore it like you ignore me! I'm sick and tired of it. I can't take it anymore. It wasn't my fault you tried to kill yourself!" people were looking around but not intently staring which was good. She looked up from her food, looking surprised and definitely hurt. "HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT?!" She yelled loudly. "I mean seriously! you started all those rumors and then you say it wasn't YOUR fault? What the hell? I don't understand you! And yes, I do acknowledge you kissing up to me and its getting old, Landon. Not every single girl is gonna fall for you. You get one chance with me. You got it. But you failed. You said horrible things about me! That weren't even true! By Day, you went to school and spread horrible rumors about me. Meanwhile at night, you would tell me you loved me with all you freaking heart and that everything would be fine! You knew what I was going through! And you just betrayed me. I'm so done. With you, that is. The difference between the old me and new me is that old me would fall for all your stupid lies and surrender to your rumors. New me? Never. I'm too strong, and my life is precious. I refuse to let you do this to me, Landon. I'm done. It's over." She picked up her burger and threw it at me. And then she walked out. She's one heck of a girl.
