"MOM!"

here we go!

"MOM! WHERE IS MY STRAIGHTENER!!!!" my big sister, Becca, is on her normal morning rant while I'm casually eating my bowl of cereal, waiting for her to get ready so she can drive me to school.

"It's under the sink sweetheart!" My mothers sweet voice called back. I finished my breakfast and put my bowl and utensils in the sink. When I took my seat at the table again, my mom wasn't there. She came back seconds later with a small box in hand.

"Happy Birthday!" she cooed, handing me the box. I took it, but not without reminding her that I told her I didn't want to do anything this year. I'm only turning 17, no big deal. She shooed off my complaint and insisted I opened it anyway. I did and my eyes widened. $500 sat in the box, tied with a nice white ribbon.

"Mom, I can't take this" I protested, "It's way too much."

"Oh, hush! It's all yours I'm not taking it back" she said before exiting just as Becca entered.

"Ooo, money! Care to share?" was the first thing she said when she saw me.

"No, now lets go before we're late" I grabbed my bag and walked out of the house, Becca close behind.

The car ride was short but about a block away she pulled over. "Out" she demanded. This was something she always did. She hated being seen in public with me, so she would drop me off before we got to school grounds and made me walk, what a nice big sis.

I groaned, slid out of the car and on to the sidewalk, slamming the door behind me. She sped off, leaving me to treck the rest of the way.

I got to the school grounds just in time. I still had 5 minutes to get to my locker and get my books. While walking in a caught a glance of the delinquents. A group made of, trouble makers, players, and just straight up bad boys. And their leader, Luke Brooks, had to be the worst. I could not think of one girl in this school that he hasn't slept with. Except for me of course.

I hadn't even realized I was staring until a ran into the schools large front doors and fell on the front steps. Luckily I didn't topple down the stair, but unluckily all delinquents saw and started laughing hysterically. My eyes met with Luke's and he sent a wink. I shot up and ran into the building.

Luke Brooks has never acknowledged my existence until now, and of course the first thing that runs through his mind, is "Flirt to get sex." But that's not how it's going to work. I would never wastes something as precious as my first time, on a neanderthal like Luke.

I got to class just as the bell rang, thankfully, and took my seat in front. I was doing fine listening to Ms. Green, until the one and only Bad Boy Brooks walked in with his signature smirk plastered on his face.
