Harry’s POV
"I swear Liam, you lay a fucking finger on her and I will fucking kill you." I growled at him.
"Alright. I won't touch her." He said, putting his hands up in defense and laughing. I looked back at the street and noticed Yasmine was still there, just sitting in her car. We looked at each other, then she turned her head and drove away.
"Why do you care about her so much?" Ryan asked handing me a beer.
"I don't." I said to him. "But if I did it would be none of your fucking business."
I sat outside with them for a while, but the silence was fucking awkward and it was annoying me. I hated these guys, but they were my only company here. I guess you could call them my only friends. It was stupid calling them that, but thats what they were. Ryan was looking at me with a scowl on his face, and I couldn’t help but be an asshole to him.
“What’s up your arse, Ryan?” I said to him, laughing.
“None of your business.” He said getting up and walking away.
“Hey, I was just trying to lighten up the mood!” I yelled to his back laughing. He walked into the house and slammed the door behind me. Liam looked at me and laughed. He was having a conversation with two other guys that were there. I didn't recognise either of them. I got up and left to my apartment.
--------------------------------------
I was driving down back to Denver this week for thanksgiving. I decided that I should spend more time with my mum and Gemma before they left. They were only staying here with Mrs. Malik and Mrs. Yousaf until christmas and then they were going back home. I would be staying at my aunts house for the week, and then the dinner was going to be at Yousafs home.
I truly missed spending time with them but it somehow looked like we were never going back to the way it was before. Arriving back down at the neighborhood brought many memories back. It was so hard for me to be that sweet boy again. I don’t know what came over me when I became who I am now. I drove by the park where I had spent my childhood, and decided to park my car. I got off and walked towards the playground. Me and Yasmine loved playing here. We would sometimes escape from her parents and my aunt and come down here it was our hiding placed.
I walked towards the slide and a big smile covered my lips. The things we’d written on the slide were still there. “Harry is a big dummy.” was written with a red sharpie in Yasmine’s sloppy 12 year old handwriting. I had written “Lilo has a big butt.”, and that’s why she had called me a dummy. I ran my fingers over the permanent words. I walked towards the swings, and sat on the one that wasn’t broken. I tried to wrap my arms tighter around myself, it was windy and quite cold.
The memory of me and her just messing around laughing has haunted me since the day I left. Believe it or not I had fallen in love with her from the beginning. No matter how many girlfriends I had while living here and or how many girls I’ve fucked over the last few years compare to the love that I still somehow feel for her even though I know she hates me.
I noticed the sky getting dark and the wind becoming more cold, so I got off the swing and walked towards the house, knowing there would be no place for my car. My aunts house had lights already hung up, just waiting for the day after thanksgiving to be turned on. They were very festive. Yasmine’s house was empty though, only her parents lived there, but her dad was away. I recognized her car parked, and I had the urge to go over, but I stopped myself.
I walked up the driveway and into the house. She was sitting in the kitchen island with my sister, they were chatting, and she looked hot in those skinny jeans and beanie. I hung my jacket and took off my shoes. My mum noticed me first.
