It's my first story, i hope you guys like it!
"Michelle? Isn't it like school today?"
A beautiful blonde woman said to her 16 year old daughter who was still in bed. Mrs Lara Dalton was eating low fat yoghurt and peering into her daughter's room. Lara didn't look like a mother. She'd had Michelle when she was twenty. She'd always fancied the domestic role of mother and wife and she loved her beautiful family but she loved her beauty shop in town. They lived in a little town called Waverly. Her husband was a lawyer. Lara ate her last spoon of yoghurt and looked up to find her daughter still under the covers.
"Ella!"
The girl finally pushed the covers down, sat up and looked at her mother.
"You choose today to pick on me?" Michelle asked with a grin on her face. Her mother laughed and a wave of love and pride hit her. She gazed at this unbelievably beautiful girl who was almost a woman. Even when she'd just woken up she had a captivating beauty and her father's big deep green eyes and of course his thick dark hair. Her little girl.
"I've been reading my magazines. Rumour has it that a certain young, handsome, famous guy is coming to your school. He's in your grade..." Lara said while walking out, trying to use that as bait to get her out of bed.
Michelle sighed. How could she not know that? Her friends had been going on about it through out the entire holiday. No doubt, the guy was hot but something kept her from going agog. Must be his blue eyes, she mused as she walked to her bathroom.
She picked out clothes to wear with out paying much attention to it. An artist at her best, and of course she had to have accessories. Mostly black or colourful soundless bangles and earrings that either made her laugh or stare. She hardly ever put make up on but one item of make up was essential, lip gloss. She put it on and did her famous Facebook pout and then laughed.
"I'm a cheerleader, aren't I? I have the right to be ditzy at times." she said to herself in the mirror.
"Well, Ditzy is going to be late for her first day of school this year." a warm male voice said behind her. She spun around and smiled at him.
"Daddy." She went over to him and hugged him, standing on her toes.
"You left your keys on the table. Enjoy today, angel"
Mr Trevor Dalton was the older male version of his daughter. He played tennis and kept fit. He ran the only law firm in town which had branches all over the world and he'd worked hard building this empire. Stolen family moments were all they had with him away so much.
Michelle ran out of the house with a red designer handbag with white polka dots, it was big enough to hold her books. She had a "cute little", baby blue Mini Cooper which she smiled at when she got in and started the car. This is it, she thought to herself as she took a deep breath.
She drove first to her best friend's house. Katherine was a cheerleader as well and they'd been friends since before they could walk, everyone had called her Katy since then as well. Katy was already standing outside when Michelle got to her place. She shrieked as she got into the car.
"Ella!!!! We're seniors next year!"
Katy's eyes sparkled with excitement. She had deep brown eyes and corn blond hair. It would be unjust to say she was anything but beautiful. She had a charm about her and everything she did seemed fun, as though she'd found the meaning of enjoying life. Just as people called Katherine Katy, they sometimes called Michelle Ella and so everyone on the cheerleading squad had a nickname of some sort. Their two other closest friends were Laura, Lala, and Kayla, Kay. Some envied it, some saw it as cute and to some it was just irritating.
Michelle let out a whoop and started the car.
When they reached the school parking lot, Katy did a make-up check while Michelle waited for her to finish, glad she wasn't much of a make-up fan. Suddenly Katy stopped and looked at Michelle.
"What? A blackhead? A whitehead?" Michelle asked teasingly with wide eyes.
"Haha Besty," she teased back, "Actually i just remembered that Keith Sanders is coming to Waverly high." She said with a distinct look of hope. Michelle stared back at her in disbelief.
"Ella don't look like that. Anyway, you'll get the Keith bug soon." She said and patted her friend. They got out of the car and spent the remaining fifteen minutes mingling and fulfilling their duties on the social hierarchy.
"One more year till you're seniors. Yay." Mrs Brookes' bored voice said as her only introduction to the class. She was their register teacher, had been for the past two years. She was in her forties and seemed as though nothing could excite or surprise her, hence her ever sarcastic tone.
The door opened and every female in the class leaned forward, except Mrs Brookes and Michelle.
He walked in. a murmur was taken up and the guys in the class seemed as though they weren't sure what exactly their response should be to him. Sandy hair, deep blue eyes, a perfect face and the body to go with it.
"And this is the new student, Keith Sanders. Welcome him, don't harass him, bla bla bla..." the teacher said and sat behind her desk with a wave of the hand which seemed to mean they weren't in her world anymore.
"So... Where should I sit?" Keith asked. That voice. Some girls even sighed.
"You sit where you find a seat in my class." Mrs Brookes said.
So Keith turned around to the class and scanned it for a seat. His eyes paused on Katy and he smiled then walked to the seat next to hers. He sat down and turned to her.
"Hi, I'm Keith." he said looking at her eyes.
Katy was glowing inside but kept her ultra beautiful smile on. "I'm Katherine, everyone calls me Katy."
"Katy. I like it."
Michelle's head had been under her desk since he'd walked in. She had been searching for her music papers, frantically. She hadn't notice where Keith was sitting or how star struck her friend had gone. She looked up and ran her hand through her long hair, frustrated. She turned to her left with her eyes closed and her two fingers rubbing her temple.
"Katy, I need you to cover for me." She said as she opened her eyes and Katy turned her to her. She glimpsed Keith next to her, talking to the guy behind him.
"On the first day? What's up?" Katy said with a slight good natured frown. Michelle rubbed her temple, ready to explain. Instantly Katy understood. "Oh, your music. You have to relax about that Ella. I'll cover but let me introduce you." She said breaking into a smile. With out letting Michelle speak, she turned around.
"Keith, this is my best friend, Michelle." she said beaming.
Michelle's mind was racing. Did she leave her music sheets at the piano downstairs, the keyboard upstairs or in a bag?
"Hi Michelle." Keith said smiling, never taking his eyes off of her. Why hadn't he seen her before?
Michelle hardly looked at him and muttered a distracted hello. She picked up her bag and stood up to leave.
"Katy, cover. Please. nice to meet you Keith." and she walked out hurriedly. Mrs Brookes didn't even look up as she spoke.
"Katy, what's her excuse?"
"Uh she isn't feeling well. A bug."
Keith looked amused and spoke as soon as Katy turned back to him.
"Is your friend one of those bad girl emo chicks?" Katy laughed at the idea of it.
"Michelle? Noooo way. She just gets in a bit of a state when it comes to her music. Unhealthy if you ask me."
Keith looked curious. "Music?"
"Yeah. Piano. She forgets her music sheets sometimes and just freaks out."
"How does she forget them if it's that important to her?"
Katy looked at him silently. They saw Michelle and forget her.
