CJ POV
March 5, 2013. I remember that day as if it was yesterday. My mom was just getting in her car to go to the store but little did she know he was behind her.

My cousin, Anyone, was coming to stay but instead my nephew Pudge came to stay;he was three. I asked my brother to bring him because he wanted to stay. When he got to my house, his little pudgy face was filled with glee. He had his cheeks poofed out, then he broke in to a grin with two front teeth missing. He was going to stay for two weeks...

Later on in the week, he tripped on the stairs and he started crying. I picked him up when he started crying, because Pudge was my favorite.

The next day I asked him if he wanted to go to the park. When we got to the park, some kids were bullying him, so we went home. When we arrived home, I told him to stay where he was so he wouldn't get hit by the car. I told him to stay put where I could get something to drink.

However, Pudge, did not listen and went into the driveway. I was tired when I went inside, so i asked my sister Emilee to  watch him so I could take a nap.

About thirty minutes later, I woke up to the sound of my mom screaming at the top of her lungs. I went outside and remember thinking oh. My. God. He had got ran over by my mom. He was so limp, pale skin, limp limbs, body unmoving, blood pouring out of his head and flies everywhere. The sirens in the distance were getting closer, more neighbor's were gathering and talking and the blood was drying. I remember my mom collapsing and soon after that myself. I recall my brother and sister-in-law jumping out of their car, crying. I, also, recall someone cradling me as I screamed out noooooooo. That was the most gruesome event I saw in my life. I felt as if I had got ran over instead of him. I blame myself for not bringing him inside. I am just now processing his death.

Life is not that long. Live today like there is no tomorrow. Live life to the fullest because we are not promised tomorrow. As my grandmother always said, "Nothing is forever but death itself, so love life to the fullest."
