Is it really SIN?

There was once a person named Joshua. Joshua was very poor, cold, and hungry. He was walking down the street and he found a wallet by a sewer drain and inside that wallet was a credit card. The credit card company's name was "SIN" and it had no numbers on it like a normal credit card would have. With the little bit of money he had from collecting cans, he wanted to see how much money was on the card, so he ended up going to a pay phone and put some quarters in. After calling the number, the operator started talking.

"Hello. Welcome to SIN. A company helping people in need and desperation. Please enter your name into the call and we will begin your transaction."

Joshua was really confused and didn't know what was going on, but he put his name in anyway.

"Thank you for entering your name Joshua Pantoja. SIN is a company that helps the desperate and needy. We already know who you are, but don't be afraid. 5'7, light brown eyes, brown hair, and your racial profile is caucasian."

"How do you know who I am?" Joshua asked nervously.

"Inside the card you have touched, there is a thumbprint scanner. Whoever touches the card will automatically be updated into the system. It is state of the art technology. It can read emotions and the condition of your body, so we can really know if you are sick or not," said the operator.

Joshua did not reply. He was as stiff as a board. He didn't want to move and he was speechless. "S-so wha-what happens next?" Joshua questioned.

"Take care of the card and it will take care of you. You have unlimited money to spend so you can buy whatever you want. Just make sure you spend it on the right things. You have been warned!" SIN exclaimed.

The phone hung up and the phone booth started on fire. Joshua quickly fled the scene still in doubt of what the card could do.

An hour later after the incident Joshua went to a corner store in the Bronx. He had the card in his hand, nervously and anxiously he started to grab water and snacks to fill him up. He walked up to the counter with a pale face. "Hello sir, how are you today?" Joshua asked politely.

"I am doing good today, how about yourself?" Gerald asked.

"I am doing very swell, thanks for asking," Joshua said with a smile on his face.

"Have a good day sir," Gerald replied back.

"Thank you," he said walking out the door.

Joshua left that day joyful as ever. Now that he knew he had money on the card, he went shopping for clothes and looked for a house for the next few days. With the card in those few days, he went and bought a big house, a lot of clothes, and food so he could eat continuously. He was looking clean and sharp. He signed up for an interview for a job that he always wanted. A few days later he got a call from the company.

"Hello Joshua?" questioned Marlene.

"Yes this is Joshua," he replied.

"Hi this is Marlene from Sunshine enterprise. I just called to say that you have an interview on Friday," she said.

Excitingly he said "Oh that's great! I will see you on Friday then. Goodbye!" Before Marlene could say anything back, he hung up in excitement.

Joshua was happier than he has ever been in his entire life. On Friday he ended up getting the job at Sunshine enterprise when he went for the interview. Joshua started working for one of the biggest companies running in America. They are basically a worldwide manufacturing place that makes everything from packaged food to new cars. There is really never an open spot there so it was a very lucky chance that Joshua got accepted there since they look for top of the line workers.

Joshua still had the card after two weeks. He knew he had money but, he started to think about what he can use it on. Instead of keeping the card and using his earned money he kept trying to use the card in greediness. The fire and thirst in his eyes for things, was starting to get out of control. He was looking for a car online to buy and since he likes sports cars, he looked them up at a dealership. There was one of the most expensive cars in the world. A Bugatti Veyron! He went online and since he knew that he didn't have the kind of cash at the moment, he entered the cards hidden pin number on the back of the card. The only way that you could do it was with the card anyway since he didn't have a bank account. He bought it and picked it up the next day since he had to register first.

He thought he had everything planned out and that the SIN card would stay in his possession but little did he know, they still had track on how he was feeling and how he was doing in life. SIN had people watching his every move and making sure that he wasn't spending it on things that he didn't need. He did some things right but, the rest were greedy and selfish. SIN had enough of all of the things he was doing and broke into his house one night. He was half awake when the flashbangs came in and people with masks entered the house guns drawn.

They grabbed him and beat him to the point where he couldn't take it anymore. Joshua was bleeding and his eye was swollen with the first punch they threw at him. After they had him on the floor he could hear a woman's voice. She also had a mask and she was the CEO of the company SIN.

"We gave you the power of all the money in the world. You decided to start spending it on things that were useless like that car you bought and all of the fancy restaurants you went to. The only way you could make yourself was with money even when you didn't have one single thought cross your mind about other people struggling out there," she said.

Joshua was speechless and started to break down crying.

"You have disappointed us Joshua and now we are taking the card back. We hope that you succeed in life with the new job and the house that you have to pay for with the money you earn at Sunshine's enterprise," she said.

They left the house in an orderly formation. Joshua was left there and he ended up passing out. He woke up the next day and the door was broken so he figured it wasn't a dream. He didn't go into work that day since he was so messed up in his face and because of all of the bruises on his body.

In the end he stayed with his job and fixed his house. He bought a car to get him around and he never saw SIN again. The card however was back by the sewer drain again. A homeless guy named Nick was walking asking for change when he passed the same exact sewer drain. He saw something red shining and proceeded towards it...
