So, baby, pull me closer
In the back seat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of that mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older...

I sang as I took Buji and Ammu, my two Labradors, for a walk. It was pretty late and the roads were completely empty.

I rarely take my dogs for a walk because well, it's a lot of work. But sometimes (especially at times like these when there's a lot on my mind) I love doing it because I can get away from my mom's constant nagging to do this and that to level up to the other kids in my class who were unfortunately born-geniuses.

This time away, walking the roads with my earphones plugged in, listening to my favourite pop and rock (depending on my mood), dancing in the middle of the road with no concern whatsoever about who might see me, is pure bliss.

'Hey! Deeptha!' my sister yelled from behind me. 'DEEPTHA!'

'What?' I asked her irritated.

'Do you know the time?'

'No.'

'Well! It is 12:34am. Aren't you scared to be out alone at this time of the night?'

'Holy guacamole! Is it really that late? I should have been asleep minutes ago!' I gasped, while also unplugging my earphones and putting my phone in my pocket.

'Oh really?' my sister chuckled. 'You rarely go to sleep before 2.'

I smirked.

'Girl's gotta try to get her to-do list right at least once, right?'

My sister took over the ropes and bowed sarcastically. I tried kicking her butt she was quick to move out of my way, missing my feet by inches.

'Okay Swe. I'll go sleep. You come back home soon too. They've both already pooped.' I said and walked back.

I couldn't help but feel warm at my sister's timely sweet gesture. She's got college tomorrow too, but she knows that I've got a big day tomorrow and has yet again proved that she's got my back, when I lost track of what I was doing and when. Though it's a safe neighborhood, we don't walk about without our dogs, and that was the only reason why I was out anyways.

My sister is a genuinely weird person. She can either be very helpful, or be very lazy (and thus selfishly stupid).
