Beginnings (Rise of an Empire) {Avatar/LoK: Avatar Wan}

Progolue

The night began to fall as one of the farmers of the lion turtle city quickly gathered his last supplies. After a while he was done and took off until he heard that someone was following him.

'Who's there?', the farmer yelled.

As he panicked and moved his head from left to right he noticed that some of his supplies were gone. 'Not again...', he sighed.

"My name is Wan, and I'll show you how I became the first Avatar".

"Finally, he's back!" Jaya waved at his best friend. Yao, the old man who encountered several dangers back in the days was a little anxious. 'Wan, if you keep on stealing we'll get caught someday", he warned.
"Well, I'm always getting away with it, and otherwise, how are we supposed to survive?", Wan answered.
"He has a point right there", his friend Jaya remarked.

As the three friends gathered together in their treehouse Wan was clearly bothered. "What are you thinking about Wan?", Jaya asked. "I'm just tired of living this life. I have a feeling that there is so much more to discover in this world".
"Be careful what you say Wan. I've been to the spirit wilds and look what they've done to me", Yao sighed as he pointed to his disformed face, "just go to sleep already".

The next day the young man sneaked out of the treehouse as he agreed to join a spirit hunt which led to get granted with the power of fire. As he lost the group of hunters he encountered a spirit pond. The spirits didn't trust him at first, but after a while he discovered these creatures were not going to hurt anyone. Fascinated by the events of today, Wan waved his new friends goodbye.

"Wan! Where have you been? We're starving!", Yao shouted as his stomach growled once again. "I'm not a regular human anymore", Wan said switching the subject as he held his hand in front of him as a bright flame appeared.
"Oh no you didn't", Jaya said as his mouth fell open.

And so his plan started. The food that he used to steal from the Chuu brothers was only the beginning. He started a rally among the other citizens and soon enough the group invaded the palace of the Chuu's.

Sadly, after the deed Wan was banished to the spirit wilds. At least, that's where the adventure began for real.
