I stood up and followed Caden into our bedroom and closed the door behind us. "Listen, I'm sorry if I overreacted." I put my hand on my forehead and closed my eyes. "It's just that Mom and Dad are coming up on Tuesday and I had to tell Paris. Needless to say, she got upset and we had a fight."

He didn't turn around. He just sighed and ran his hand through his hair.

"I love you." I said as I put my hand on his shoulder.

He turned around and hugged me. "I'm sorry for being angry with you."

"No, baby, you had every right to be angry with me."

Suddenly, his phone rang. He pulled away from our hug and answered the call.

"What? Sadie, slow down. What's happening?" He asked in a worried tone as I stared at him anxiously.

"Okay, okay. I'll bring you to the hospital. I'll be there soon, just hang in there." I waited until he hang up to speak.

"What happened? Is she okay?"

"Her water broke." He explained as he walked over to the bed and pulled a bag out from underneath it.

"Do you need any help?"

"If you could just meet us at the hospital, that'd be great. You can bring Jay if you want to, but I don't know if she could stay up too long."

"I'll bring her."

He started to walk out, but I quickly kissed him. "I love you. Drive safely, okay?"

He smiled. "I will. I love you too."

Then he left and I went into Jay's room. I sat down on her bed beside her.

"So, I have some exciting news for you, Jay." I smiled brightly.

She turned around to face me.

"Aunt Sadie is having her baby! We're going to drive up to the hospital to meet Caden and Sadie there, aren't you excited?"

She smiled happily and giggled. "Yay! Can we go now?!"

"Of course, put on your shoes and get your school bag."

She nodded and then scurried off to find her bag and shoes. I walked back into our room and put on my shoes, then I grabbed my purse. Jay was waiting outside next to the car when I walked outside. She smiled and motioned for me to open the car door. I unlocked the car and we drove to the hospital, Caden and Sadie had already gotten there.

Jay and I sat in the waiting room for an hour until Caden came out and sat down with us. I put my hand on his shoulder.

"How is she?"

"She's doing great, but she's wearing me out."

"I can go in there and talk to her if you'd like."

"Yeah. I'll look after Jay." He smiled and kissed my cheek.

I turned to Jay. "I'll be back in a little while Jay."

I stood up and walked into the room that Caden came out of. Sadie was sweating profusely.

"How are you?" I asked as I sat down on the bed beside her.

She faked a weak smile. "I'm good, I'm good."

I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Now the truth?"

The smile she had worn faded and she threw her head back on the pillow. "I'm miserable. I don't know what I'm doing and I'm in pain, lots of pain."
