The young man wandered around in the spirit wilds, turning around by every single sound getting more terrified as time passed by. After surviving the night he heard a sad cry from not too far away.
As he ran where the sound came from he encountered a caught cat-deer trapped in a net. He sure felt more hungry than ever, but when he saw the sad look in the eyes of the creature he changed his mind.
He freed the cat-deer and it immediately approached Wan and gave him a lick. "You're welcome", he giggled.
One of the spirits from the pond he met before approached the young man. "You definitely are different compared to other humans", he said, "you saved the cat-deer despite your hunger".
"My name is Aye-Aye", the spirit introduced, "I've never had a human as my pet. I think I'll call you Stinky!" The spirit nodded heavily at his own joke. "The name is Wan", the man replied insulted. "Nu-uh. Stinky it is". Aye-Aye kept on grinning.
The following weeks Wan trained to control the element of fire, like it was an extension of his body. "I've always wondered if there are more lion turtle cities", Wan questioned as he sat down to take a break. "Of course there are, Stinky. You humans aren't that smart", Aye-Aye sighed. Wan raised an eyebrow. "I need to find them".
"Already leaving?", one of the spirits said disappointed. "No worries, I'll come back. But I have a feeling that something is waiting for me", Wan smiled.
The young man felt not like a regular human anymore and it was time for him to discover the world. Along with his cat-deer, whom he named Mula, he was all set and ready to leave. He knew that the journey was going to be tough but considering he had already survived the consequences of the spirit wilds made him confident of succeeding again.
"Are you sure you're leaving?", Aye-Aye asked. He admitted that he didn't like Wan at first but the two became very good friends. "Yes, I'll take care of myself!", Wan said as he took off. Aye-Aye waved him goodbye, wondering when he'll meet his human friend again.
It was a very long travel as he finally approached the next lion turtle city.
He saw two giant spirits fighting nearby and decided to take a look what's going on. "Free me, human", a dark voice screamed.Wan didn't understand what was happening and decided to help the spirit in distress.
The dark spirit laughed. "Thank you human, for freeing me of this pain". And he quickly flew away. The other spirit, who actually looked more friendly than the other one flew towards Wan.
"You have no idea what you've done", the spirit said.
Wan's eyes widened.
"You just freed Vaatu, the spirit of darkness. He will only cause chaos in this world. My name is Raava, the spirit of light".
"I- I didn't mean to", Wan stuttered, "I will help you to catch him again".
Wan had an idea and he approached the lion turtle that he just found. After a while he was granted with the power of air.
"We can defeat Vaatu together".
And so Wan, Mula and Raava traveled further to the water lion turtle city. Wan could add an another element to his list. Whenever Raava passed through his body he could bend an another element.
And so he trained until he was capable of defending himself. The three approached the desert where the last lion turtle was located. Wan felt this wasn't an ordinary city, as all the citizens gathered together at a huge palace in the center of the lion turtle.
"All hail Earth King Sonihn!", screamed one of the guards and the citizens started to bow as a tall man came out of the palace...
