It was after school. I just picked up Bailey. I was taking her to the book store. I was currently worrying over my outfit choices. Deanna was really surprised with how great it looked on me. I picked out a dark purple shirt. I paired it with a short black skirt. I paired it with black pumps. I curled my hair. And I put my effort in my makeup. She was surprised this morning. I had to face Damon soon, so I stepped out. I entered the store. Natalie was working the desk. She was helping out a customer. I quickly did inventory and filled in some empty shelves. That's when Damon came down the steps. He took one look at me and froze.

"Victoria?"

"That's me, silly."

"You look amazing, today."

"Thanks."

He must have come out of the daze he was in, for he started to walk over to me.

"How was school?"

"Boring. How about you?"

"I'm going to kill my tutor."

"Well I have 8 teachers I want to kill too."

"I don't know how you normal people live like that."

"We are forced by our government and parents."

"Government you mean?" He teased.

"Your parents. You screwed with that one."

"Ha, whatever."

"Hey, Victoria. You want your job back?" Natalie asked me.

"Sure." I went over to the checkout counter. I started on my job.

Damon decided to follow me. "Did Bailey go upstairs with Johnny?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"They are like the best of friends now."

"Yeah, it's cute."

Just then a customer came in. It was Bella.

"Hey, Bella."

"Hey, Victoria. Anything new?"

"I wish."

"I hate this agony. But I finished my research on Albert. He was an cool person. Now I got to find another person to read about."

"I got the perfect book for you. Fields of Grace by Hannah Luce."

"What's it about?"

"This girl who's father is a big evangelist. Like he co-founded Teen Mani Ministries which is huge. So she ends up telling her story. About growing up. About questioning everything. Going to college. And the plane crash she was in that killed two of her best friends. And how she has been handling that."

"It sounds pretty inspiring."

"It is."

"Where is it?"

"I'll find it."

I found it in the inspirational. I walked up in the counter. I gave it to her. She read the inside flap. She then placed it on the counter.

"25 dollars."

"Here you go." She handed the money to me.

I gave her the book. "Thanks. Have a nice read."

"You too."

She walked out. I walked in the back and grabbed another copy of Fields of Grace. I put it back on shelf. Damon was talking to Allison. Something that they were whispering about. I pull out another one of my favorite books, City of Bones. Since it's about to be a movie and all, I thought I would catch up on it.
