Ericson 8:00 a.m.

It was a cold December morning, snow started to fall down slowly. The early risers were out walking around Ericson, they all had smiles on their face. It must had been the feeling of Christmas in Ericson. What a beloved gated community it was. Everyone happy, kids going to school, everything was perfect in this small little town. Christmas lights were up, as Christmas Eve was going to be this Saturday.

Ericson was going to throw their Christmas Eve party like they do every year, but this was the 100 years of Christmas at Ericson. People still couldn't believe that Ericson was 100 years old (even though most of them hadn't been alive that long.)

In this little town or gated community, whatever you want to call it, it does have a " town hall ". This town hall is where they throw parties or just have neighborhood watch meetings. See, it is just a safe little haven. Nothing goes wrong here. No robberies, no drama, no violence in general. One main reason it's like that, it's because of Mr. Fox.

Who is this Mr. Fox? Mr. Fox is a lead detective outside of the gates. He is know for "taking down the bad guys". By "bad guys", I mean lunatics and psychopaths. He has taken down numerous serial killers. He is good at his job and he also tries to be a good parent.

He has a daughter name Jessica. She is a talented, beautiful girl. She has black hair with streaks of blue in the back. She has hazel eyes, that stand out. She has every boy chasing her. Yet, she has a boyfriend, an abusive one.

Why is she with him? She claims to love him even though he gives her bruises, scratches, scars, and even hits her hard enough that blood starts to run down her face. She is going through a "hard time" or so she always says to her dad.

She loves her dad a lot. Her dad has been there for her since the beginning. He was there when her mother died, which was when she was 8.

She never actually got to know her mother. She was always in the hospital getting tests done with her because she had breast cancer.

Jessica always calls "cancer" a son of a bitch, a life taker, a family breaker.

Jessica has too much going on, so she decides to cut. Why? Because she thinks it's the only way to take out her anger. It's the only thing she can do, she says. No one can help her. Not even her family. Not even her friends. Not even her boyfriend. She is broken and lost. She needs someone who understands her like her dad; a savior.

Ericson 8:30 a.m.

Mr. Fox woke up to the annoying sound of his alarm, " BEEP.......BEEP........BEEP...... ". He hated that sound. That sound just reminded him that he had to go out and risk his life.

In frustration, he banged his fist on the alarm clock. It landed on the floor and he was shocked that it didn't break. He grunted trying to get up out of his bed.

It was hard for him, he was getting old. He couldn't do what he used to be able to do back in the day. He is 39.

He slowly climbed down the stairs of his two-story townhouse and to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

He barely got any sleep last night because he had to work overtime. Mr. Fox wasn't getting paid enough for his job and he knew that.

The man sat down on his tall, wooden sitting stool in his kitchen and shrugged his shoulders. He had to make Jessica breakfast. Though he loved the hell out of her, he never understood why she can't make herself breakfast. She's 16. He went over to the food cabinet. He opened it.

He shrugged: "All out of pancake mix." He went over to the refrigerator, opened it and sighed in relief.

There were two eggs left. He could make her scrambled eggs, like the way she always likes them.

He waited for his beloved daughter to come at eat her two scrambled eggs, which took over a half hour. He heard her slowly descending the house's steps, just as he had earlier that morning. He then remembered her saying something about an Algebra test that she had to take today. That's why she must be exhausted.

She slowly came down the stairs; she was stressed out, terribly. She walked over to the other stool sat down then placed her head down on the table.

She said,  "Why can't I do anything right, Dad?"

He replied, "Why? What happened?! Is everything ok?!"

"Yeah, it's okay. Eric came over last night. I just asked him a simple question then whack!" she said sadly as she started to tear up. "Why can't I do anything right?"

Mr. Fox hated the bastard. Why doesn't he just tell Eric to back off? Because Eric threatened him, too, he realized.

Eric's parents are a well-known family in the construction business. They are also well known outside of the gates. A very popular and rich couple, they were. Mr. Johnson ( Eric's father ) even threatened Mr. Fox, saying that he would lose his job and get arrested if he even dare getting in between Eric and Jessica. They have the power to do so sadly. " That son of a bitch! " Mr. Fox said. She sighed. She started to cry. She was going through a hard time. A very hard one. Mr. Fox put his arm around her shoulder. He rubbed her back. Like any loving parent would.

She wasn't in the mood to eat anymore and Mr. Fox understood that. He got the eggs and walk towards the trash can. He turned around and then said, " You don't have to go to school, if you don't want to love. "
" No, I want to go. I want to see my friends. " she replied.
Her friends always have her back. They have even together since kindergarten. Yep, that's a long time. In this group of friends there is Rose, Paul, Kristen, Nicholas, and Cole. They all love each other, they would do anything for each other.
