Whizzing along the high way, sipping pop and listening to songs playing way too loud with a bunch of your friends is what summer is made of, right?
--

We were in a seven seater and me and Shayne were in the back two seats, Lasercorn, Mari and Wes in the middle three and Joven at the front with Sohinki driving. Lilly and Courtney had gone in the other car with the rest. We had taken Sunny's car because it had the most room and then the others had Ian's mom's.

"I hope we don't get lost." Wes said.
"Well, Joven's got the map," Shayne began to laugh as he spoke, "don't get your hopes up."

I laughed with him as Joven turned around telling him to 'shut up'.

"You know." Joven began to say minutes after, "My map reading skills are impecable."
I couldn't see her but I knew Mari had rolled her eyes at this. "Oh shut up Joven, you can barely see let alone read maps." She teased.
He turned around and gave her his best pout and a matching frown.

"Calm down, kids." Sohinki said. Causing everyone to laugh.

I was glad I was sat by Shayne as the journey rolled on as he kept cracking jokes and making comments about things we passed, stuff that had happened earlier this week and the people in this car. After a while I couldn't control my laughter, "I need to pee, can we stop?" I whined.

Everyone groaned but couldn't refuse when we saw a sign saying services in half a mile. We pulled into the car park and everyone got out when they saw there was a Starbucks.

I ran inside crazily to pee and everyone laughed, but I wasn't joking if I didn't make it soon I would wet myself. As I was running I collided into a body and felt myself get knocked to the floor.
"Oh my god i'm so-" the familiar voice stopped talking as I picked myself up and I looked up to see Dan. Dan.

He didn't continue his apology but I knew I owed him one. "Dan." I gasped but before I could say anything he stormed away.

I stood by myself hopelessly for a minute looking around for where he had gone. It took me a moment to realise why I was here before remembering and I headed to the toilets with my head hung low.

He still looked sad, it had been six months, I felt my heart break.

As I joined the others they noticed something wasn't quite right but decided not to bug me with it. I took a seat next to Shayne hoping he'd cheer me up. And he did a little.

"We got you a latte." Mari smiled, handing me a hot cup. I smiled, "Thanks."

We made our way back to the car and me and Mari walked a little slower behind the others.
"You okay, Liv?" She asked wrapping me into a hug.
"No." I mumbled into her shoulder and she squeezed me tighter. "But I will be."

As she pulled away she sent me a sympathetic smile and then we jogged to catch up with everyone, our arms linked together.
--

"From my guesses I believe we are about ten minutes away." Joven said.
"Yeahhhh, let's just hope they're right and we're not in Nevada.." Lasercorn joked.

"Well I mean, that wouldn't be a bad thing... that's where we're headed to after..." He said and Mari hit him on the head with her nintendo. "Ouch." He squealed and Wes erupted in laughter.

"Wait, look!" I exclaimed, rising off my seat slightly and resting my finger on the window. Everyone gasped when they saw it too, 'Welcome to Los Angeles" the sign read. We cheered. "Well done Joven." I said, genuinely smiling. "Thank you, Olivia." He said glaring at everyone else.

"Now you need to find my aunt's house." Shayne joked.

"Fûck, you said you'd give directions." Joven muttered panicking.

"Nah I'm just kidding," Shayne said, "turn left here, Matt." He told Sohinki and he obliged.

Upon our arrival we saw the others had already arrived and been let in, Shayne's aunt's car wasn't there which meant the trip had officially begun. Lilly had given the other car directions otherwise I'm sure she would've come in our car to be with him.

We got out the car the second it was parked and grabbed our bags, running to join the others. Hopefully we get to explore LA soon, I didn't see much in the car.

"You made it? Even with Joven directing?" Ian teased.
"Oh not you as well." He dramatically sighed causing Ian to laugh.

We settled into our rooms, I was sharing with Mari.

I desperately wanted to talk to Anthony about who I had bumped into today, but things were still... weird.

"My aunt left us some alcohol, can you hide it? I don't want anyone finding it and ruining the trip. We can have a party on the last day." Shayne whispered to me handing me a bag as I nodded. I stashed it under the bed I was staying in and made sure it couldn't be seen.

Then I went downstairs and everyone was chilling in the main room.

"Anthony.." I got his attention and he looked up. "Wanna go on a walk..?" I was expecting him to ignore me but he nodded and got up. Everyone watched us confused and silent but no one said anything.

I knew things were weird but I couldn't stand it, and seeing Dan today made me realise how much I couldn't bear to lose Anthony too.

We left the house and walked down the road in silence.

"I saw Dan." I blurted out.

"What?" He asked. I couldn't tell if he was mad or surprised.

"We stopped at a service station and I was running to the loo and crashed into him, literally." I explained.

"Oh." He simply said, tensions between him and Dan were high. "How did you feel?" He asked.

"Like an ass." I simply said. He gave a soft laugh before saying, "and how was he?"

"He still looked sad."

"It's not your fault."

We carried on walking and the mood was down before..

"I think that's a path to a beach!" I exclaimed pointing to a sign at the end of a road. I began to run over. Anthony followed and when we made it to the path I felt him laugh when he was leaning against me, catching his breath. I was laughing too.

We ran together down and sure enough there was a beach. We walked along the paved bit as we had shoes on and didn't want to ruin them in the sand. "I've been a jerk, haven't I?" Anthony asked whilst scratching the back of his neck.
I shook my head but he insisted he had. "I'm sorry about smoking, I really shouldn't have, especially after what you told me.." He sighed quietly.

"It's alright now." I smiled and he smiled back.

It was quiet for a moment before Anthony said, "Last one to the pier loses." and we both sprinted across the sand and onto the wooden pier.

"I won!" He yelled.
"You had a head start." I complained missing him just by mille seconds.

The water looked so inviting, Anthony read my mind. "Let's jump in." He stated. Usually, I would object but I nodded.

He stared at me as I stripped down into my underwear but I pretended not to notice as I did the same, "3,2-" He stopped my countdown my grabbing my hand and jumping.

The water was freezing as we hurtled into it, the second I hit it I let out a squeal. Underwater I couldn't see Anthony and I began to panic and floated back to the surface. "Antony?" I called.
"Boo." He said grabbing me for behind and I screamed and then began to laugh.

He turned me around to face him and it was all of a sudden like we never broke up. Then he kissed me. And I kissed back.

He kissed me.

Was I wrong thinking it was nothing like my kiss with Courtney?
