I slowly opened my eyes, grabbing my phone from the table.

The messages and missed calls woke me up like they do every morning.

I yawned, looking at the notifications.

~Luis: Good morning *1min ago
~Luis: I'm on my way to the academy *3min ago
~Luis: Remember the meeting with Nolte? *5min ago

I sighed heavily, dialing his number.

"Hello," I said in a hoarse voice.

"Babe, you just woke up now?" He asked.

"Yeah, I just got up now."

"Fay, you need to get up. Remember the meeting? If you don't make it on time, kiss dance  good-"

"Luis, I know. I will make it on time, so don't worry."

"Alright then. I'll see you later."

"Okay."

"Love you."

"Me too. Bye."

I sighed heavily, hanging up.

Mornings are my favorite.

I used to dread getting up before, but now I love getting up in the morning.

They are always so beautiful and peaceful.

I wake up every morning to birds chirping in a tree outside my bedroom window.

I wake up to the smell of blueberry pancakes and waffles.

I wake up to the humming of my grandma while she's busy cooking in the kitchen.

It's good to wake up to all of this, as it felt like when Mama was alive and we lived together like a family.

However, today isn't my favorite day.

The sound of the birds, the smell of breakfast, and grandma's humming aren't helping.

I have a meeting with the Nolte administration and am nervous about it.

They sounded serious on the phone, and I don't know what's coming my way.

I'm ready to return to school in the fall, and there's already bad news.

This is precisely why I don't get too comfortable with my life ever being normal.

Something or the other always comes my way.

Things changed a lot in the past two years.

I have changed a lot.

As I enter adulthood, I'm becoming more independent and mature.

My life is different now, and so am I.

I'm currently working as an intern at a small dance academy.

The kids there love me, and I love them.

I love teaching them how to dance and showing them the importance it holds in the lives of us dancers.

I'm getting paid enough money to help my dad with many things.
