The clicking of the buttons rung in my ears like giant sound boxes at a party. Speaking of party, I don't remember anything. Was it night, morning? I took a deep breath, but the air never came. I started choking and the waters of sound crashed over me at once. I flailed and struggled but something was keeping me down. I lunged at the air and panicked as the restraints kept me secure.

"Leo!" I heard Kassie call. I mumbled and my eyes fluttered and her voice. Kassie! My eyes snapped open and I saw her purple flustered face at my feet. My feet! Bruised and bandaged, they looked like giant marshmallows. I took in the surroundings at once. The pain washed into my brain as I sat up before Kassie pushed me back. My stomach churned. My cheek throbbed.

"Leo..." Kassie sobbed as water rolled down her cheeks.

"Don't cry!" I mumbled, reaching out to touch her face.

"Leo, I thought, I thought," Kassie sniffed.

"It's okay now Kassie," I smiled before cringing in my bed. Bed? The colors in the room focused and I am in a hospital. Then, the memories flood back to me. Elias, beating me up...and I can't take it anymore and close my eyes.

"Leo," Kassie said gently. "Will you be, alright?"

I smiled weakly. "Of course Kassie, I will, as long as- as long as you are here." She finally managed a grin through her tears. She hands me a box of chocolates and some flowers.

"I didn't want to lose you Leo, you are the only person a have left to love."

I opened the box, my favorite, Huckleberries in chocolate. "You know what Kassie, you are the only person I have left to live for," I say, stuffing myself with chocolates. She laughs and hugs me.

"Ow! That still hurts!" I yelp. She punches me playfully. "You are the bravest person I know, you'll be fine." She left the room with thoughts on my head as it hit the pillow.

It's gonna be one great week, I think. Boy, was I wrong.
