~Abigail~

I stormed out of the house, tears brimming my eyes.  I ran to the nearby park, and sat under my favorite oak tree. Who knew that everything can fall apart so quickly? That no matter what you do, life will just break and fall into pieces and the only thing you can do is watch it all?

I hugged my knees to my chest and put my head down. My hair fanned against my back and in front of my arms, like a shield to protect me from the monsters. I couldn't stop sobbing.
She's not gone. She's not gone. She's no-
I heard footsteps of someone walk over to where I was, but I was too scared to look up. I could hear the crunching of the grass as the strange figure bent down next to me. Fear crept in as the stranger scooted closer, and  put an around my shoulders while pulling me to their side. I looked up, and the stranger moves the hair that stuck to my cheeks; I helped move the rest but my face was already beginning to feel puffy. It was a boy, my age, maybe older. He had blonde hair that was short and seemed to fan across his forehead, and freckles on his cheeks. He smiled a small, closed-lip smile. I returned it, summing up about as much of a smile that I could, and stretched out my legs from their previous position. He pulled me closer to him and started singing softly.
Honestly, the only thing I could think was who is this strange boy, why is he here, and why is he now singing to me?
I didn't know the song, but my tears stopped and it seemed the only sound to be heard was my breathing and his soft humming. He brought the song to an end, and I looked up, curious as to what he was about to do.

"I saw you when I was over on the sidewalk on my way home, do you mind me asking why you are crying under this tree?" He asked quietly.

"M-my mommy, s-she moved away-y to a place called h-heaven" I said looking at the ground. "She was sick for a long time, and my dad said there are doctors there that will help her." I was surprised that I could get the words out to a complete stranger without bursting into another set of tears.

"I'm so sorry.. What's your name? My name is Luke." He said, still holding me close to his side.

"My n-name is Abigail. I live in the house across from the park" I answered, trying not to hiccup. I pointed across the white house with blue trimming, not far from where we were.

"Oh really? I live right next door. Would you like to come over and play?" He asked sweetly. How did I not know he lived so close?
I looked up to him and saw a hopeful smile playing on his lips.

"I would love to" I smiled back at him, looking into his crystal blue eyes. His eyes are so pretty, like the sky on a summer afternoon. I could look at them all day..

Wow. Whenever I wrote this, I needed heavy, heavy, heavy editing. This was about all I could sum up- but when did I think it was a good idea to have some random boy come up to a crying girl and have the crying girl think it was nothing. WHAT WAS MY THOUGHT PROCESS. Ok. Until next time!
