Chapter 2

Freedom City

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"5" Years Later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I ran, ran and ran, running for my life because I was FREE! Free from Goldern, free from those annoying guards...for now unless I don't escape.
"Guards, after her! NOW! She's getting a-" I couldn't hear Goldern anymore, I was far from earshot of him.
I climbed up an old but tall oak tree and hid in the leaves while the guards hustled by, confused and afraid that their boss will torture them if they don't find me. They looked around for minutes, to dumb to look up the trees. They ran back to the prison, maybe about a mile away, disappointed they didn't find me. I waited until they were truly gone to climb down the tree and start to run again, just in case they would come back.
I followed a little road that led me to somewhere I've never heard of, a large city called Lost Angels. I remembered studying in my Princess courses and learning about a city called Los Angeles, a similar name. But that was ages ago, the war had long gone destroyed that city.
I looked at everyone's fashion. Wow, things have changed a lot in, how long have I been stuck in that stupid prison? Five years... All the girls had their hair up real high, and wear fancy clothes, every single one of them.
I looked up and saw signs of different things, but one caught my eye. The sign read Lost Angels- Today's Date- 12/20/2110. 2110? Last time I remembered, it was 2100. So was I in that cell for 10 years?
A flashback of the prison went through my mind. What I saw was astonishing. I saw the guard, the guard that hated me, giving me a vaccine. The vaccine had a tag that read Mindera Mix Vaccine. Then that's when the memory faded. I thought back to Princess school, trying to remember about the medicines I learned. Mindera Mix was a vaccine that erases the last 2 years of memory. Is that why I thought I've been trapped in there for 5 years when it was actually 7? Maybe I told him important information, I would never know. Unless, there's an antidote to it.
I continued walking, everyone staring at me. Or I should say my clothes. I was glad I still fit in it, even though I'm super tall. I was wearing my Golden and white Princess Night gown, probably the last thing I wore before Goldern took me away from the palace. The gown was dirty, covered in mud and dirt. I guess I was considered wearing "rags" since I'm 10 years late in fashion. Ehhh, I told myself. It doesn't matter what people think of me.
As I walked down the sidewalk gracefully, looking at popular fashions, and clothing shops, my blonde, used to be curly hair bounced around me. I tried to ignore it but it was annoying me. I need food, I told myself, trying to forget about my hair. Do I have money? On my shoulder lay a little handbag hanging on a shoulder string. I opened it and it had a mini golden wallet inside. What luck! Such a coincidence I still have money in it...strange Goldern didn't take it.
I counted how much I had. 20, 40, 60, 70, 80, 100. Exactly 100 dollars. I have to use it wisely before I run out. But I also need some place to stay...
"OWW!" I screamed out. I had a massive headache, starting at the back of my head and crawling to the front of my brain. I fell to the floor. Someone help me, I said to myself. People just walked by, speed walking to more important things rather than helping an 18 year old girl that was sprawled on the ground.
The headache disappeared, and I sat up, my face getting red from embarrassment. I stood up and dusted my clothes. Useless. I tried to remember where my palace was. I remembered it was someplace called England? But I wasn't sure. All I have to worry about now was finding a place to stay, a place to call home until I can keep going, somewhere safe and hidden from Goldern and his guards.
I woke up to something licking my face and a sound of thumping. I looked up and saw a tiny little chihuahua, tail wagging like crazy and it's cute little face snuggled to mine. I looked around, not remembering how I got a place to sleep, until I realized I was sleeping in a garbage can. It was dark and stinky, and how the heck did this puppy get here? The lid lifted up, and a careless person poured some of her soda in the trash, then tossed the cup. It landed on my head, just like the soda did.
"HEY! Who did that?!?" I screamed. The lady looked at me casually then walked away. "Wow. What has gotten into people these days?". I stood up and pulled myself out of the trash, strangers looking at me like I'm crazy. I picked up the little puppy and put him on the ground.
"Bye puppy. Sorry, but I can't take you with me." I walked away, but turned back around when I heard tiny little footsteps follow me. "Hey! You little rascal! Sit puppy!" The tiny puppies bottom went down to the floor, then she tilted her head, asking 'Where's my treat?'. "Fine you can come with me if you'd like, but I've never had a pet before so do don't blame me if I don't know how to take care of you."
