After Jessica had to leave for work, I went and lied down on my bed to take the rest of the day to think through everything that has recently happened. I just needed time to think. Okay... I thought to myself So, first I went straight to my best friend's apartment and I haven't really left since. Jessica has helped me sort through my mixed emotions and pregnancy hormones. Wow... I'm so lucky to have her but I seriously just can't believe that it's already been a whole week since the breakup. I still don't know whether I should believe it or not. But then again, reality is reality and there's nothing I can do about that. My mind always seemed to wander back to Jack. I remembered the first time I saw him. The moment my eyes saw him, I knew he was my "Romeo." If only he had made better decisions would we have still been in love.
****2 days later ****
A sudden sound of shrill rings cut through the silence of early morning. I drowsily got out of my warm, soft bed to grab my phone. It was the hospital I worked at.
"Hello?" I asked
"Yes, hi, this is Dr. Bolthausswen. Am I speaking to Addison Brooks?" He asked
"Umm... uhh....it's actually Addison Dahel.... now at least." I nervously replied
"Oh. Umm.. okay. Well your boss, Nancy, is wondering when you'll be able to make it in to work." I heard his husky but cute voice ask
"Today would be good." I said
"Okay. Sounds good! I'll see you in an hour!"
"Bye."
I walked over to my suitcase to get dressed for work but the moment I unzipped it I realized that I didn't bring any of my scrubs. Crap! I thought to myself. Well I guess I have to go get everything of mine out of his way anyways. Plus, it would be a good time to give Jack the divorce papers.
I grabbed my keys and headed to my car. First stop, courthouse. I thought to myself. It wasn't all that bad that I had to go get all my things from Jack's and his possibly new girlfriend's apartment because now I could finally have the opportunity to give him divorce papers.
As I was turning into his parking lot, an ambulance rolled out and cops were swarming the place. Hmm... no surprise there. This really isn't the safest part of town anyways. Once I parked my 2007 white Jeep Rubicon, I filled out most of the paperwork and signed where I needed to. Trying to avoid the cops, I emerged from my vehicle and headed to my ex's apartment. Before I even got to the elevator, a man with a black suit on stepped out in front of me.
"Ma'am I'm going to have to need you to leave the premises immediately," He asked in a way that wasn't really asking.
"Sir, I don't have any intention of being rude but may I ask why?"
His veins were now popping out of his forehead.
"Lieutenant Hopkins, please escort this young lady to her vehicle," the currently frustrated man ordered in a stern voice.
Before his lieutenant even reacted, I swiftly walked back to my car and sped off to the hospital. What the hell was that all about... I thought to myself.
Screeeeech! *screams* BAM!
And there was pain! A lot of it! All I knew was that my car wasn't in motion anymore and I was in pain. All I really cared about was my baby. It was all I could think about. And then my world went black.
