It was around one o'clock in the afternoon when I reach Dad's office. It was still the same, like before. Well established and well-organized.
The guard check my bag as I enter.
Yeah, it was like this. When it comes to the Company, there is no daughter and such. Everyone is a subordinate of the president. No exceptions.
"Good Afternoon, Ma'am."
Some of the employees greeted me though.
I just smiled at them as I continue to walk ahead.
I directly headed to the HR Manager's office to submit my application.
"Good Afternoon Sir." I greeted.
"Applicant?" he asked.
"Yes Sir."
"Okay. Take a seat."
I flash a smile as I follow his command. I sit at the chair opposite to where he sits. Between us was his office table parting us apart.
"Did you bring your resume?"
"Ah yeah." I handed him my resume.
He took it and browse it quickly.
"I believe you're already aware of the position you're applying at."
"Yes Sir." I answered.
"Then, you're hired." he suddenly stands and raise his hand towards me.
"Are you serious?" I asked him in disbelief.
"There's no time for joke in this company, Ms. Lautner. You know that." he said.
"Hah. You haven't change, Mr. Montereal."
"You haven't change as well, Ms. Lautner." he smiled.
"So, when will I start, Sir?" I asked.
"Tommorow."
"Okay. Thankyou, Sir." I stand as I was about to say my goodbye.
"How about, lunch?" he offered.
"How about your work?" I asked him.
"I'm done here. I already found the qualified applicant for the vacant position." he said.
"Okay then, lunch." I answered.

"So, where have the heiress been?" he asked.
"Somewhere." I answer boredly. "Please let's not talk about that, Lance."
"Okay fine." he raise his hand as if he was surrendering. "But, that doesn't end to that. I'll wait until you're ready to tell."
"You'll just wait in vain, Lance. So don't bother." I declared.
"It doesn't matter. You know me, Charm. When it comes to you--"
"Let's take our order!" I intervenes.
That made him laugh. But I knew he was hurted again, deep inside.
"Waiter!" he called.
As I stares at him, I couldn't help but to be sad. If only, I have learned to love him back. If only I was able to reciprocate his feelings. If only, Chris was out of the picture. . We could have been together. . .
"Charm?"
"Oh, yes?" I almost got drown on my thoughts.
"The waiter is waiting for your order." he said.
