The word was tranquil , peaceful , at ease. Everything was looking for the odd duo , sitting at the edge of a cliff with their legs dangling off was so elementary, yet it brought great comfort with it. Ahead the sapphire ocean and azure sky complimented each other perfectly and with the pure horizon line you really couldn't tell where the depthless sea ended and the boundless sky began . Utter perfection , but Inaho wasn't interested. He turned his head to gaze at a more magnificent visage.A more beautiful sight . Slaine Troyard . His blue eyes which neither mirrored the ocean nor sky gazed straight ahead as a trickle of tear fell down his soft face. A gentle breeze cascaded the boys causing Slaine's soft curly hair to cover his eyes. The european boy carefully tucked it behind his ear only to notice Inaho was staring rather intently at him. Slaine flashed a golden smile to Inaho , his saviour . Without him he felt it couldn't be possible to witness such a beautiful  scene ,or to feel such blissful peace. Inaho grinned back as if to reply  'It's ok you don't have to thank me' and he truly felt Slaine shouldn't feel indebted to him , as it was only Inaho's desire which drove the rather stoic boy. His desire to see Slaine. His desire to touch Slaine . His desire to know Slaine was alive . His desire OF Slaine .

Suddenly , the grass which he was sat on felt hard, like brittle ground . He patted his hand around in search for the soft grass which had only been there a moment ago, panic welling up like liquid filling a container ,   then he noticed something else . Well, lack of something . Sound . Where was the sound of waves crashing onto a soft shore , the eagles squawking a terribly annoying melody or the rustle of nearby objects ? Troubled  he sharply turned to Slaine,  noticing the boy was already staring at Inaho seemingly fixed into the same expression as before. It was almost as if time had stopped  . However, it felt different, deadlier, Slaine's eyes weren't shining or glittering , his smile held no emotion , no meaning . He didn't even look stoic instead he looked dead.....
Dead .

Abruptly Slaine dispersed . His body disintegrated like an avatar that's lost in a match. Each pixel -like shard of light passed a landscape removing the mask it had previously worn.
The ground was hard and brittle not a strand of grass or nature in sight. The once tranquil sea was dyed ink black and gooey with disposed human waste and oil spillages . It had turned deadly , which was evident to anyone once they saw the bones that topped off the semi- liquid blob like icing upon a cake. The sky overcast with soot , echoing crashes and bangs of an ongoing war  implored the stench of death to be removed from its once pearly , pure clouds.

It wasn't always like this. He could effortlessly remember his time with Slaine under the meadow. It was peaceful , calm , without a care in the world . The curious boy's head perched on Inaho's lap holding a paper-back book whilst the 'hero of earth 'fondled on his tablet keeping up with the latest news and events involving the waring planets.
Months later Slaine was assassinated .........

The boy was initially hidden from the world , raised as a dead-man for years before Inaho got him released . They shouldn't have found him. They weren't have supposed to discover his brand new life .......................................but they did .

What hurt most was Inaho's own helplessness. he COULD'VE helped. He SHOULD'VE helped. However , fate had other ideas for the teen. It didn't want to allow him the luxury of Slaine's presence nor the luxury of his love , of anyone's love. His parents , friends , Slaine...... It hurt . Still the boy didn't want to let it show , he WOULDN'T let it show. It'd only further hurt Yuki if she saw ... And so the facade continues ...

Inaho sat at the edge of the cliff. His legs dangling off . The urge to jump strong but logically he knew he needed to live . For himself . For humanity . For Slaine.... but god it hurts so much. The pain throbbed in his heart driving him to feel  like replacing the organ , much like his eye , despite knowing that a this was just emotion and Slaine would've laughed at him saying that the heart's ONE and ONLY job was to pump blood around the body and nothing else. Then  how could that be when his chest ached so unbearably. Step by step water welled up in eyes previously unable to cry. It was fine right now wasn't it ? No one was there to see .He couldn't keep it forever , no matter how strong one pretends , after all even stone crumbles over time.

His lips were pressed in a straight line as they always had , the only way you could say he was crying was if you'd look at his red eyes. Nothing else gave it away. Inaho kept his head bowed grateful that he'd been able to finally cry over Slaine's death . He'd heard from countless people that crying eased pain even if only for a while. He expected the pain to come back and hit him full swing after he'd cried , but even the most stone hearted person would agree that this boy needed SOME closure , SOME joy....then...

He felt a familiar warmth on his face . Familiar hands cupping his 'pudgy' cheeks . Those soft gentle hands, the same hands he yearned for , for months and days on end , those hands that never seemed to come back no matter how much he wished and prayed. Till now .

The astonished human looked up to see a translucent face . Semi - see through eyes stared back at him . They were neither the sky nor sea. they were Slaine. Too swept up by astonishment Inaho didn't question how slaine was floating above a cliff , how he felt his touch in his current ghostly form or how slaine could wipe the tears away from Inaho's face with his disappearing thumbs . How wasn't the question to ask . What wasn't  the question to ask . There WAS no questions to ask . As a matter of fact no one needed to talk at all. Slaine embraced him bringing ghostly arms around the being. Warm.... Slaine was moving closer to Inaho almost to plant a kiss before he abruptly disappeared . Inaho guessed his time was up . He let the never ending tears fall and eventually halt even though they were tears of joy. The wind whipped severely  around Inaho as he got up but he didn't mind. Hell he didn't CARE. Nothing could ever make him cold again. Slaine left a heat on him that lingered throughout the boy's whole life. As he was making his way down the top towards their cottage he felt a burning in his breast  pocket. He found the heat emanating from a little velvet box and parchment of paper. He immediately knew what it was . He opened the box, of which contents he knew all too well, gazed  at the simple, silver band  atop which  sat a small encrusted emerald . He unscrambled the gold delicate paper to see something rather unexpected . Under the six words of his undying love 'Will you marry me Slaine Troyard ?' An answer was being written in cursive blue ink. In Slaine's handwriting ......"Yes" .....
Inaho grinned as he remembered that Slaine always did love the colour blue ......
