Chapter 3: Red vs Blue: Red's First Defeat

"Sqirtle","go Charmander" was heard in the field as two trainers was getting ready for a heated battle much to their friends dismay. As red and blue were getting ready for their battle they failed to notice the stranger watching intently from behind a nearby tree, "Charmander use growl" commander red as the little flame lizard pokemon sent out a fierce growl at the Squirtle.

"What a wimpy voice" teased Blue as he said "use tackle".

Squirtle ran towards Charmander as the flame lizard looked at its trainer, "uh ember" read said as Charmander ran and flicked its tail sending a stream of fire towards Squirtle as it dodged and continue running.

'This is not looking good' I thought as he look at the battle, "you missed it" teased Blue once again causing Red to get slightly irritated.

"Calm down take your time" he told his pokemon but it was to late as Charmander was tackled by Squirtle sending it back.

Red look at it then said "use scratch" pointing at the blue pokemon. Charmander ran towards squirtle and swiped its sharp claws but missed due to Squirtle doging but swiped once again only to hit the hard shell

"One more time use scratch" red ordered as Charmander was about to strike but was countered by Squirtle, who tackled it once more sending it back, after hearing Blue say "tackle".

"Calm down and think logically Red" I shouted at my friend only to get ignored.

"Whats the matter use ember get up hurry" Red said as Charmander shakly stood up flicking its tail once more.

"Bubble" Blue with his signature smirk, as Squirtle sent a stream of bubbles to the small flame extinguishing it.

"I don't get it why are you so slow" Red said slightly bitter,

"Is that all you've got bubble" Blue said still smirking, Squirtle sent a stream of bubbles once more at Charmander as the pokemon tried to dodge.

"Don't just run away come on use ember" Red said as charmander stopped to attack only to get hit by bubble then tackled by Squirtle once more.

A small "gotcha" came from Blue as he told his pokemon the next attack "bite".

I watches as Squirtle bite down on the side of Charmander's face as Charmander struggled to get it off, seeing its flame was slowly dying out I acted fast "ok thats enough blue obviously won" I said as he watched squirtle come off charmander.

A "but" could be heard from red but his argument was cut short with a glare from me "both of you call your pokemon back" I said sternly.

"Charmander come back" red said holding out his pokeball as the pokemon turned back into energy returning to its pokeball.

Squirtle soon was returned back to its pokeball as well, "how weak I've never seen such a weak trained before, thought I'm way to strong and awesome to" Blue said triumphantly.

"You forgot modest" said sarcastically once again rolling his eyes the looked as Red who looked to be in deep thought looking at his pokeball.

"Just attack and attack its pridictable" Blue said "I-I just-" Red started but was cut off by blue once again "look Red you should just head back to pallet town already you'll end up getting hurt out here and their's no way you'll be able to complete the pokedex, it's a waste of time" Blue told him then turned to me "ready to go?" Blue asked him, as Red's grip on his pokeball tightened, I was about to respond but was cut off by Red as he ran away.

Xx Time skip cause thats what the did in the special xX

Red was currently by a river his lost still on his mind, "Why Blue and I, we both should be at the same level" he said hitting his head with the pokeball.

"No clearly the guy who used Squirtle is more experienced" came from someone behind him as he turned to see a man with brown hair brownish cargo pants and had brown hair.

"Uh who are you?" questioned Red.

"Tell me something do you understand the typing and characteristics of your pokemon" the guy asked ignoring Reds queation.

"What?" came from red as a reply not quite understanding what he meant.

"Well to begin with it's so obvious that you and your pokemon are not in sync" the guy told him as Red looked at his pokeball.

"Not in sync...thats a lie" he said back stubbornly

"His Squirtle responded quickly to its trainer's instructions, and was able to dodge attacks by using its own judgement, because the pokemon and its trainer are connected, that Squirtle battles clearly recognising and trusting its trainer's power" the guy said.

"Its trainers power?" questioned Red.

"Pokemon won't connect with trainers who have none" he said as r
Red face turned to one of realization "the strength of a pokemon is proportional to to its trainer power" he finished watching as Red looked at his pokemon.

"I see got it" red said walking past the guy.

"Hold on where are you going?" the guy asked Re.

"Isn't it clear, I'm going to find everyone with pokemon and challenge them to battle"was his response.

"Are you saying, your going to make that weak and hurt Charmander battle even more?" the guy asked noticing someone watching them.

"You should take it to the pokemon center first right" he said.

"Of course I was just" red said but stoped himself.

"The pokemon center in Veridian city is the building with the red roof" he informed him.

"Eh well thank you" red told him.

"By the way I think your friend is here waiting for you" he told red who looked and saw me standing there ,with eevee in his arms, along with a not so pleased look on his face.

"Angel? Didn't you go with blue" Red questioned.

"yea its me and no because I am not an item, I chose who I want to travel with, and I'm sticking with my choice" I responded smiling slightly with Red mimicking the smile.

But as I walked up to him and punched him in the arm reciving a loud "ow", "but I still have half a mind to beat you for making that bet in the first place" I said slightly glaring at red who sweatdroped and laughed nervously.

"If you really want to learn the basics of battle your gonna want to visit the gym leaders" the guy informed Red.

"Gym leaders?" red asked again.

"Gym leaders are very experienced in pokemon battles you could learn quite alot from them though" he stated as he stared walking away but stopped.

"Though what?" red questioned curiously as the guy turned to watch him.

" Gym leaders are only willing to battle with people who want to learn" he turning back around and started walking once more.

"If you want to visit the gyms then first think about this, what battleing pokemon is really all about" he said.

"What battleing is really all about" red said as he watched the back of the retreating guy.

"Who was that guy anyways?" I questioned looking at Red.

"Don't know never got his name" red said looking back at him.

"Huh ok" I said looking the way the guy left.

"Well anyways ready to go to the pokemon center?" I asked turning back to my friend, reciving a "yeah" in return as the both walked to the pokemon center.

A/N done i know its been a while but i wanted to update my first story since i want to have a christmas chapter soon but i don't want it right after my thanks giving special but i updated and i hope you like it. Say bye eevee
