Snow. Crystallized flakes of Earth's soul. Every flake a different phrase in the vast book about the mystery that is Earth and her children.
A flake drifted from the heavens and fell daintily onto the dark-skinned nose of a tornado hidden in the illusion of a ninth-grader.
Stephanie shivered but maintained the grin of a wildfire preparing to devour a dry forest. She wrapped her pointer finger in her thick curly hair, bit her lip and glanced up at the shorter girl walking beside her.
She mindlessly smiled and nodded at the rambling beauty beside her. She attempted to listen but was perpetually distracted by the animation in April's eye brows.
"Don't you think?" April said grinning from ear to ear and wiggling her eyebrows.
Oh fuck, oh fuck! Stephanie thought.
"Uhh", She mumbled desperately trying to think of a response so she didn't disappoint April.
"Ha! I knew you weren't listening!" April chuckled.
Stephanie blushed, "I'm so sorry".
April playfully punched her in the arm, "It's fine. So what do you think about the new Math Teacher?"
Stephanie shrugged, "She's kind of awkward, but it is her first year".
April nodded, "Well I loved her. She's so funny."
Stephanie suddenly gasped.
"What the hell?" Stephanie shouted.
"Holy shit!" April grabbed Stephanie's hand.
