Chapter 35: Tom Returns

Star's POV

It didn't take long for the hospital staff to find us and bring us back to the hospital room.

I sat in the hospital bed, "This is so unfair Marco,"

Marco sat in one of the chairs in the room. He held his face in his hands and sighed.

"We just need another plan," He said.

"Another plan? What else can we do?"

"I don't know Star," Marco replied.

I sighed, how did we get to this? There had to be something I could do.

Marco sat down on the hospital bed and hugged me, "It's fine Star, we'll figure something out,"

I nodded.

He pulled away and said, "I think you should relax for a bit, you won't be able to do much if you keep stressing yourself,"

"That's true,"

Marco stood up, "I'm heading to the bathroom, you stay here and relax,"

"Relax Marco, what's the worst I can do?" I joked.

Marco laughed as he walked out.

I laid on my back and shut my eyes for a second. I tried to remember all the fun before this mess. I took deep breaths. In the end I was still terrified and worried.

I heard the door open slowly and I opened my eyes.

I immediately jumped up when I recognized who it was. I defensively stood up ready to fight.

"Don't scream," He whispered as he ran up to me.

He grabbed my wrist as he looked me dead in the eye with a serious look. I attempted to push him off of me, but his grip was to tight.

"Star," He said, "I don't know what you want me to do, why can't you see I love you?"

I didn't answer, just glared in return.

He took a shaky breath, something was really off this time. He really was loosing it. I've seen him angry, but this was way scarier.

"Star, I do everything in my power to keep you safe, why can't you just love me back?"

"Marco will be back," I threatened, "You need to let go of me and leave.

"Marco, it's always about Marco," He laughed, "Why is he so important? What makes him so special!"

"Maybe the fact that he doesn't hurt others just for the fun of hurting others," I argued.

"I don't even know what your talking about," He scoffed.

"Have you ever thought about all that you caused since you came here?" I snapped, "All you do is destroy everything in your path,"

Tom looked hurt for a second. He let go of my wrists.

"You think you own everyone and everything," I continued, "I am not your property Tom, you need to move on!"

"But I can't Star," he breathed, "I love you, why won't you love me back?"

"Because I can't Tom!" I cried, "I can't love someone who's hurt so many people and done so many things to innocent people,"

Tom turned away and ran his fingers through his hair.

"I don't love you Tom," I said, "I gave you a chance to show you changed, but you didn't, you can't change,"

He turned around, "Im trying Star, I'll try harder, just please give me another chance," He pleaded.

I shook my head, "I can't forget all the things you've done,"

We stared at each other for a few seconds in silence. I waited for his next response, terrified for his reaction.

"Star, if I can't be with you," He glared at me, "Then no body else can,"

"Is that a threat?" I snapped, "I'm not afraid of you,"

That was a lie. Tom had to be one of my greatest fears. With his unpredictable emotions and obsession with me. I can't escape him and I'm scared. He's hurting people and offing people for me and he won't stop.

The door flung open.

"Marco!" I cried, "Help!"

Marco prepared to attack, but Tom flew his hand out and the door shut and locked leaving Marco out.

"Stop it Tom!" I cried.

"Star," He hissed, "I tried and tried so hard, but you just never listen, why can't you realize how much I care for you and how much I'll do for you,"

I glared at him.

"I'm supposed to be with you," Tom said sternly, "It's a fact, so why won't you just accept it,"

"Because, I hate you," I snapped.

And that was the last thing I remember before everything went to hell.
