It was the day of Halloween, every kid in New York went to go trick or treating, except one family who was just moved into an apartment. This family of six didn't spend the day going around seeing other people in costumes or getting candy. They were finishing packing from their trip. Carlos who is the father, had curly hair with a big mustache and a belly. Mary who was the mother, still looking young but was getting old, she has red hair and is the same height as Carlos. They had four children. The oldest was named Manuel, he's 18 and has black curly hair like his father, and he's 5'12. Sergio is the second oldest, he's the brains in the family and the rebel, he's 5'11 but is has light skin. Antonio and Jose are twins, they both are 5'9 and thirteen but Antonio is the active and Jose is also the brains.
While everyone was finishing packing up, the parents started getting ready to go to the store while the boys stayed behind looking after the apartment. They didn't want to leave but the parents told them to explore the area for a while. The parents headed towards the bank first to check how much money they had left. Mary told Sergio to go around and explore with his brothers.
"Hey honey, why don't you and the boys go out and see what's out there." Mary said
"No I don't want spend time with my stupid brothers." replied Sergio
"Can we not fight over this please!" Mary yelled at sergio.
"FINE!" Sergio told Mary with an anger attitude.
Mary then noticed the clouds gathering up fast, faster than a minute. She personally thought it was nothing just going to rain a lot this week, the boys were far from home but they continued to explore. Jose did notice the storm heading his way but he simply ignored it, so did many people. A homeless man was running around with a sign over his body yelling out.
"IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!"
" Hey I heard you and mom arguing again." Said Manuel talking to Sergio
"Dude get off my back, I don't care what you heard." replied Sergio.
"Can you once stop acting like we're dead people bothering you." said Manuel and walking away.
"I wish you were dead." whispers Sergio to himself
The boys headed home until it started raining. Once they made it to their apartment building something hit a window hard. All four of them looked up and saw hard ice coming down from the clouds. They were completely in shock when they witness one of the hail hit somebody in the head making them dead. They started running upstairs and heading towards their apartment, hoping their parents would be there. The parents were on their way home until the heavy hail started dropping on cars, including theirs, Mary jumped which gave Carlos a scare. They both looked at the hail noticing it was twice as big. It was killing people and smashing car windows and building. He then started taking the long way home, they noticed dark clouds coming over the buildings. It was getting close. The boys were noticing it as well, so they started heading out on foot with helmets on. They left through the back door but they couldn't stand still cause everyone was shoving just to get inside. Once the parents got home they ran towards their hallway. They noticed the door was wide open so they knew right away Manuel and the others were gone. Carlos started calling them on the phone but there wasn't any reception.
Although the boys were safe, they couldn't continue searching for their parents because there were too many people running around and a fog was heading towards them. Manuel wasn't going to let his brothers die so he search until he found a car with keys in the ignition. Carlos taught Manuel how to drive for three weeks. He started driving while searching for their parents but it was difficult to see because of the thick fog. Sergio was suggesting to stop looking for their parents and stay ahead of the storm. Manuel stopped the car with a bit a of shock by holding to the wheel with a firm grip.
"What?"Manuel questioning " No, we have to find them before they get killed by this storm."
"What about us? Huh, we barely got out of the apartment without any ice smashing our skulls." relied Sergio.
"It doesn't matter, we're finding them no matter what."
Manuel looked disappointed and turned the car around to continue for the search of their parents. Sergio was worried with a bit of anger about their safety but the twins were keeping an eye out for their parents. Once they were in city again they notice huge hails heading down from the darkness and many dead bodies on the ground. Some heads were got crush by the hail. Sergio and the twins were starting to get worried. Manuel was trying to dodge the huge hail but everytime they pass one the other is bigger than the last one. Until a hail the size of a truck landed in front of the car making the boys crash into it. Sergio and the twins got out but they notice Manuel lying on the car hood with blood all over his head. His eyes and mouth were open, blood was coming out fast. The boys started collapsing in tears, knowing their older brother was dead except for Sergio. He didn't want to cry, instead he had guilt in his stomach, knowing his wish came true. After 30 minutes of crying the boys started heading out, but they didn't know what to do next. It was up to Sergio to find his parents and take care of his younger brothers. They witness many dead bodies as they past the fog.
Sergio was running out of options and he couldn't find anyone that would help, he noticed the twins were looking up and crying, so he did the same and saw a huge hail that was the size of the city heading down fast. Sergio knew that they wouldn't make it out alive so they head back to the car accident where Manuel died and just sat there closing their eyes. When the Meteor was getting closer Sergio noticed a car driving away and realizing that was his parents car. There was no point at yelling at the car because it was far away and the meteor was closing in on them fast. He told Antonio and Jose to close their eyes, once they did he closed his as well and all they heard was the fiery ringing noise and...silence.
Sergio opens his eyes noticing the thought he had.
"Oh my god." said Sergio to himself.
"What." Manuel asking sergio what's wrong
"Nothing, I'm just glad you're here with me."
"Well family don't give up on each other."
His face was red with a soft gasp, he looked at his brother knowing they were alive and so was he. Thankfully Manuel agreed to stop the search for their parents because the fog was too thick. The boys noticed the huge hail crashing down, they made it out alive but the storm was still on top of them. They were just waiting for what will happen next to them.
