It was freshmen year and I was really excited.
Mother brushed my hair and dressed me up for school.
Am fourteen and didn't care, I loved it when she dresses me. She is my one and only person I can relate with in this world, she's my best friend.
What can I say, am a good girl, I score good grades, always the best in my class, I dare not score a B, I still remember the pain I went through, my father got a bat, he said it starts with a B.
He's alphabets starts with A and ends in D. He says A for Applause,
B for Bat, C for Catastrophe, D for Disaster
He says its best I don't know what E stands for, I think its earthquake. But I never want to know.
After using the bat on me for a whole week, his doctors comes in the following week to treat my wounds and made sure there are no scars.
That's the job of my father's doctors, to make sure there is no scar, no evidence of abuse.
My mother suffers the most.
"Bye honey I love you"
My mother waved at me, she stood at the entrance of our house while the chauffer drove me off to school.
Yes, I was the girl that would get dropped off at the gate at exactly 7:30 nothing more nothing less.
I got into the school and walk my way to my home room. I wasn't popular and neither was l unpopular. I was just on my own.
We were in class when the door flew opened.
There he was, Bang Yongguk. One look and I just got attracted to him. It was like a magnet curse. Brown hair, dark eyes, cute lips.
I didn't know how I was drawn to him. I shouldn't be staring, our class didn't match. I was from a respectable home and from the look of it, he was from the streets. I didn't even know how he got into this school. I was in the principal's office when I first heard of him. There was a debate about him being in the school but I guessed he overruled. Few weeks has past and he's already number one hooligan in the school. He has a friend from my class and they roam the school together. Everyday I would admire him, I never knew why, I just loved his boldness and wished I had someone like that in my life to protect me from my father's wrath.
This the reason I'll always look at him. He has a pride that no one can bring down.
He didn't care about anything and I wanted someone like that to protect me; me and my mother.
The next year was the same thing. He has changed, not by character, but by looks, it seems he's been working out.
He's two man team seemed to have increased by two now, I think they are now a team. I trust no one wants to mess with them.
One day I was in the hallway getting some books from my locker when they barged in. They never walk in or stroll in or even stride in, they either bounce in or intrude the private space of this facility.
But I caught myself staring at him. I was staring for about 44secs and I looked away, blushing.
I didn't know how but one of his friends saw me. I was timid and left for class quickly.
