Mary looked around the forest path as the wind stirred the gold, red, and orange leaves, watching a few of them float to the ground. It was mid-fall and the forest was already half bare, the few remaining trees that held onto their brightly colored leaves standing out. Her feet ached from the long journey, but she knew she was close. Her old mentor had given her the mission of traveling to the Homestead in search of further training, and to assist the other assassins residing there. As she reached the house she could hear people talking.
"All we do is train. Resting won't hurt us." A male voice called out. It was had an accent to it along with the tone that was clearly hiding a smirk on its owners face. A female voice female voice replied to it.
"Perhaps Shay, but training keeps us fast on our feet. " As she reached the reached the porch the source of the voices emerged from behind the house, stopping in their tracks to look at you.
"Excuse me miss, are you lost?" Asked a male with a shaved head. His voice had the same accent as the one earlier, but was deeper. Mary turned more to face the group which consisted of three men, one of them a native, and a women with short cut hair. All of them assassins by judge of their clothing and the weapons on them.
"No I'm not lost" Mary replied. "My name is Mary Brown. My mentor sent me here to speak with Achilles." The female of the group nodded and smiled, offering her hand to shake.
"My name is Hope. Achilles should be in the study." She said as you shook her hand. You nodded and walked inside of the house, able to feel them watching you. You quickly found the study, and knocked. The sound of shuffling and footsteps alerted you before the door was opened, a man fitting the description her mentor gave her standing infront of her.
"Ah Miss. Brown, pleasure to meet you. Your mentor Adam Shawl sent word of your arrival, but I wasn't expecting you until later into the day." Mary nodded and replied,
"I hope I didn't cause trouble. I was able to find a ride with some farmers heading towards town." Achilles gestured for her to enter the study before closing the door.
"It's no trouble at all. Your mentor described the predicament that you are in and I am happy to take on another student. From what I've heard you've met the others already." Mary looked up.
"Yes though only Hope told me her name." Achilles nodded and looked at her.
"I'm sure they'll introduce themselves. Your room is just down the hall." With that he stood up and opened the door for Mary to walk out. As she walked to her room she couldn't help but anticipate meeting the others again.
