I walk through the classroom doors, taking a deep breath, I find a good seat and sit down. I pull out my brand new note pad and write today's date. Looking around the room I get those "first day of school" butterflies. Taking another deep breath I check my emails on my phone. "Hey, Tithia." A soft voice speaks getting my attention. I look up to see my friend Jasmine. "Hey." I reply smiling brightly. She takes a seat next to me and we start chatting. "How was break?" I ask admiring her new blonde hair. "It was great! I went home to see Sable." Sable is her horse, Jasmine grew up on a farm ranch and is in school to become a Equine Veterinarian. She is a true southern girl, and the sweetest person. "How is she? Does she still have that rash?" Jasmine laughs, "No she is fine, she's so smart, I taught her how to smile for treats.." I laugh at the thought. We don't get to finish our conversation because our professor walks in and all goes silent. Professor Churchill is known to be the strictest English 2 professor. He walks with his chin held high and holding a large brefcase. "Good morning. As you all know I am Professor Churchill and you are in English 2. Now everyone should know that I do not take kind to childish acts, you are all adults and I expect all of you to show everyone in this room respect. Is that clear?" The whole class is eager to reply with a "yes sir. "
Class starts out very slow, but most lectures do. When it ends we all bolt to the door, quick to get away from Professor Churchill. "He wasn't that bad," I start. "I bet he is a really nice guy. As long as we follow his rules." Jasmine swings her purse. "He is a cute old man. What about 60?" I choke. "Are you gonna hit on him?" She wrinkles her nose. "No way in hell." Her country accent thick. We start laughing but I stop when I see what's in front of me. A older guy is kneeled down picking up a buch of trash that spilled from a big trash can. He hurrys to pick up the mess, a guy my age made. The blonde guy my age is named Ben, I recognize him from last year's physic class. "Watch what your doing, phyco." Ben snarls as he kicks some of the trash across the hall. Before thinking all the way through, I rush over to the man on the ground. I keel down asking is he is okay. He looks up, pushing the black hair out of his face. He has gorgeous light blue eyes, his face is covered with tiny light feckles. He even has some piercing holes and scars, one on his left nostril, on the middle and left side of his lip, and a big scar going through his eyebrow. I also notice a clear bridge piercing in his face. He, despite his rough appearance, is beautiful. A very handsome guy. "Yeah, I'm fine." He speaks with a thick Irish accent. I frown at the situation, knowing he isn't okay. "I didn't know Ben was so rude." He laughs a bit. "He's a little dick, yeah?" I smile, more so at his accent than his words. Leaning over I start to gather up the mess Ben made, but the Irish guy stops me. "You better get to class, this is my job, I'll get it." He mumbles the last part and tries to take the trash out of my hands. I step back and he stills. "I'm sorry, sometimes I forget my boundaries." He speaks softly as he rubs the back of his neck. I didn't step back because he crossed the line, I stepped back to throw the trash away. I look at him and smile, then turn and throw the trash in the can. He blushes and runs his fingers through his hair. I keep staring at him, I can't help it. I'm brought out of my trance when I feel a tug on my arm. I look to see Jasmine with wide eyes. "We should go." She rushes like something is wrong. I squint at her but just nod. I look up to the guy and say, "I have to go but have a nice day." He nods at me before turning back to the trash.
Jasmine hauls me off, down the hall and out the main door. We have to cross the campus to get to our next classes. "What's wrong?" I laugh. She surprises me with what she says next. "That man you just helped? He is a murder."
