This was it.

This was the day i was finally graduating. No more miserable school. No more annoying people you are forced to spend the day with. No more peer pressure from my parents. No mo-

"Alex!" I flinched on hearing my father scream from practically 3 meters away.

"Yes father?" He had a huge grin plastered on his face and started making his way towards with me with open arms.

"I can't believe my little girl is finally graduating" He embraced me in a tight hug and i swear i heard his voice crack.

"Father, im not a child anymore, i am TWENTY TWO!" I said putting emphasis on twenty two as i reluctuntly hugged him back, the relationship between me and my father was really awkward since my mother passed away when i was 8. Normally girls have their mothers to teach them all about " growing up as a girl" but it was my father who taught me it but to be honest he did'nt do a good job at it, but i appreciate his effort.

"Okay, okay, let's get going, don't want to be late for your graduation ceremony, now do we?"

"No, father" I sighed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"Wow there are so many people here" My father said narrowing his eyebrows as he slowly reversed and parked his precious car.

"Wow thanks for that father" My nerves were kicking in now I wasn't this nervous before but like always my father has to add more fuel to the fire.

Okay 1,2,3. I took a deep breath and stepped out. I was surrounded by obnoxiously loud people all happily talking with each other. I spotted Jason from a distance, he was talking to his family. Jason was a really sweet boy, who always stood up for me no matter what, we knew each other since nursery, he was like a brother to me. He swiftly turned around in my direction and saw me, he immediately  walked towards me with that perfect smile showing his perfect teeth.

"Oh my god, Alex, you look so adorable in your graduation gown and  mortar board" Jason said as he gave my cheeks a light squeeze.

"Um so do you" I said awkwardly with a very pathetic smile, but luckily Jason didn't say anything and just laughed.

"Today's the big day then" He sighed as he hugged me and rubbed my back soothingly.

"Yeah it is" I said as i nuzzled my head into his neck. I'm heart broken that we're going to be in different cities after tonight and set foot in the real world without each other, i don't know what i would do without him.

--------------------------------------------------------

I was sitting down clenching on to the sides of my chair, i was really nervous, i could feel my heart thumping against my rib cage.

Jason had already been up and recieved his degree, he wasn't even a little bit nervous! I wish i was like him so-

"Miss Alex Clayton" I heard Mrs Bannister called out. I grudgingly made my way towards the stage and confronted my fear.

The croud all cheered obstreperously and emphatically making me gain a little bit of confidence and a smile on display. I percieved my year and all of them were out of their seats, cheereing me on, this just made me realize how much i will miss them.

"Congratulations Miss Alex Clayton, i hope your future is bright and successful" She smiled handing me the scroll and shaking my hand softly. I smiled back and with a brief thank you and made my way down.

Everyone huddled around me and congratulated me with hugs, gifts, best regards for the future and not to forget their final good byes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Last bag?" Jason asked as he shut the boot of the car.

"Yep" my father just had to leave for work didn't he, even though this is the last time in proabably a while that he's going to see me. Jason is always the one that's there for me so he practically begged me to let him take me to the airport. I couldn't say no mostly because i wanted to spend more time with him.

I sat down in the passenger seat and gazed out of the window giving one last look to what used to be my home. All the memories in that house are endless.

Jason sensed my tension so he put some music on to soothe me. I smiled at him thanking him and he reciprocated.

------------------------------------------------------------

"I'll miss you" Jason whispered as he kissed my forehead, his sweet gesture made this even harder and a tear cascaded down my face.

"don't cry" he pleaded as he wiped the tear away with his thumb. I just sniffled and said a quiet okay and put a fake smile on for his sake.

"Better?" i asked.

"Better" He agreed and gave me one last hug and i made my way into my terminal dragging my dozen bags along.
