Secret Sister (a Harry Potter fan fic)

Chapter 24

Kayla, Ivy, and I rushed to find a hiding place just in time. We could the elephant stomps coming closer, and closer, and closer. At this point we're freaking out. "Guys stay still!" I whispered, then I start imagining us all vanishing from sight, with the helpful effect of us being able to see each other.  The door bursts open with a loud slam! Umbridge in her pink robes and bunny slippers, is standing there and looking around for us. We're frozen. She looks around, glaring, for any sight of us. With no luck Umbridge, turns on her heel, "I guess they're not here", and stomps off.

After Umbridge is surely gone I visualize us reappearing with matching Ravenclaw pajamas, (it's a nice change, and we always have our extra ones). When Kayla and Ivy are fully visible they look at the new clothes. "Merlin Emma! These are super cute! I didn't know you could make us new clothes with such good quality! I mean come on the fabric is really soft what did you use? And the sewing is top notch! This is amaz-" Ivy and I are staring in disbelief, since Kayla never told us about her love for clothes. "Guys, I don't know why you're, wait a minute, did I not tell you? My mom used to own Madam Malkins so I'm the next heir. I know everything about everything. But since now she's..." she's starts sniffling, "she's uh, passed, and I'm too young, my aunt will take over for the time being." While Ivy looks calm and collected I am just about ready to go over and hug her. I've never heard this before and could use a little help with muggle clothes since I don't want to magic everything. That would be kind of overboard and we can't use magic during summer break. "You know Kayla, Gilderoy always insisted that I sewed my muggle clothes and I was never the greatest." I hinted. "Well, well, well my dearest Emma I could certainly fix you right on up." Kayla said with a smirk. We laughed and fell onto our beds. For the rest of the night we giggled and talked about our lives before Hogwarts. It was nice to act like normal girls for once instead of super smart girls who's parents (except for Ivy's) have died and my brother being the most famous wizard in the world.  And finally, we fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up groggy. I did not want to be awake especially since I had Potions first, even though Snape has taken a liking to me, I still didn't like it. I walked out of my dorm room and went to look for Kayla and Ivy.  After wandering around the common room for about 10 minutes I finally found them next to the fireplace enjoying cups of tea. I rushed over to them. "Hey guys," I yawned, "What are you up to?" I said after rubbing my eyes a bit since I'm still pretty tired. "Oh hey Em, we were just talking about the potions exam today." Ivy replied. "I heard Piper talking about it earlier, she told me 'it's supposed to be a doozie' her words, not mine." Kayla added. It took me a moment to process potions and exam and piece it together. "Wait, potions exam? This morning? Today?" I mumbled. Kayla nodded while Ivy looked at me with a strange expression. "Yes Em, a potions exam. Just like we said. Are you alright?" Ivy looked concerned, "Yeah I'm alright, I'm just tired." Kayla popped up right out of her seat and dashed down to the great hall as fast as she could. Ivy and I just waited, and waited, and waited until we heard Kayla's voice, "I DON'T NEED TO SOLVE A STUPID RIDDLE RIGHT NOW DOOR, MY BFF IS TIRED AND NEEDS SOME NICE, HOT, BLACK AS NIGHT, TEA!" The door opens. "Thank you. Here you go Emma." Kayla's panting as she hands me the tea, I take a sip, it's hot but pleasant, and it has a nice cozy vibe to it too. There has to be honey as well since it's a little sweet. "Thanks Kay, you really didn't have to do this." I mumbled under the intoxication of the warm and comfy tea, "It's completely fine. Now get dressed silly! We have potions in thirty minutes!" 

        A/N GUESS WHO'S BACK! BACK AGAIN! THAT'S RIGHT! ME! Oh god it's been a while hasn't it. I'm sorry, in the last chapter I said I would get better about this didn't I. Oh lord. But I'm back for good. New cover, new chapter, entirely new plot! I'm kidding about that last one. But I've also stopped using my screename to so hi, my name is Piper and I'm the writer of Secret Sister. And yes Piper Brown (Brown isn't my real last name btw) is based on me. I thought it would be fun to have a character based on me and Lavender's younger sister who's nicer and smarter than her. Anyways I hope you enjoy the rest of the story and hopefully Emma or Kayla can get a boyfriend (or even a girlfriend, who knows?) eventually. I missed you guys so much and please.
