A/N: Hey! I decided to post the first three chapters of Trust instead of five. I made a trailer for it and this is the link. https://youtu.be/isntFlpQxsQ. I give credit to the tv shows and movies that I used clips from as well as the youtubers that I used clips from as well. Enjoy!

Life is something that you cherish and not toss aside. You cherish it up until that last agonizing breath that you breathe of it. If you don't then you aren't fully giving life a chance to show you how great it can be. I didn't cherish it for years, thinking that was life gave me was a nightmare and not what it truly was. Life gave me a gift and because of that I'm the person I am today. The gift gave me an adventure but my beginning is where it starts.

I walk down the abandoned halls of Sterling High, drowning in my thoughts. My birthday is 3 days away and normally you would think I'd be excited. I wish the day never even existed, that it could be taken off the calendar every year. I turn the corner and am met with a navy blue shirt in my face. I look up and see I ran into the one and only Derek Brown.

"Sorry," I tell him, averting my eyes from his to the ground.

"Don't worry about it. I wasn't looking to where I was going."

I look back up and see him smiling at me. I don't want to be rude so I shyly smile back.

"I'm Derek, what's your name?"

I internally roll my eyes since I already knew what his name was.

"Lena."

I tuck a fallen strand of my brunette hair behind my ear, staring into his captivating green eyes. The bell rings before either of us can say anything else and I silently cheer.

"I gotta get to class. See you around, Lena."

He waves as he jogs down the slightly crowded hallway. I shake my head and continue to where I was going. I don't run into any one else on my way to the library thankfully and I occupy the table in the back corner away from everyone. I've never really had any friends and I mostly stick to myself at school. I peek at the clock hanging on the wall across from me and see that I have ten minutes of the school day left.

I start closing the books that are scattered on the table and sliding them into my bag. I stand and head for the exit. I push open the doors, heading towards my locker. Luckily, I get there before the bell rings again and I have time to get my things without being shoved. I turn the lock to the right numbers, unlocking the old metal door. I toss the books and binders that I don't need onto the shelf, trading them for the things that I do need.

As I'm grabbing my chemistry textbook, a folded piece of paper falls to my feet. I reach down to pick it up and slide it into my back pocket. I close my locker, sighing as the final bell rings. I exit the dreadful school and drag myself onto the big yellowish bus. I take my seat in the front and throw my bag next to me.

I dig through it and pull out my white earbuds, quickly plugging them into my phone. I search through my music until I come across my favorite playlist. I click on the shuffle button, looking out the window as the bus starts to move.

"Paralyzed" by NF starts playing in my ears and I turn it up a little more. The bus slows to a stop and I climb out of my seat, stepping down the steep steps onto the sidewalk. I hear the screech of the doors closing and the bus drives past me, disappearing around the corner.

I walk along the sidewalk, watching as birds fly around the trees and land on a branch. I stop outside of my house and climb the steps to the front door.

I look at the driveway, not seeing any cars. I unlock the door with my key, turning the knob and pushing. I'm greeted with a cool breeze and I shiver. I close the door, relocking it and going upstairs to my room. I drop my bag by the door and fall onto my bed.
