New Beginnings

I shove my things into the moving truck angrily. I really don't want to leave Maryland. But hey, everyone needs a brand new start right? Let's just say I'm going to miss everyone! My best friends Susannah and Connie. 'Alright kiddo! That's it right?' my dad shouts from in front of the moving truck 'yeah I guess' I say sighing 'look, Melissa, I know it's going to be hard leaving a place that you were born and raised in but please, atleast be happy we are going to live in a big nice house with palm trees and nice neighbors. ok?' That thought made me smile. I've always begged my dad to move to Los Angeles. But  now that it's happening, I feel so anxious. Ever since that thing with my mom, it made me more determined to leave. You see, my dad divorced my mom when I was 6 years old. Mom would always drink and do drugs. Dad tried to help her but she never accepts the help! So finally my dad was sick of it and ended it all. He thought it was safer that way. I never understood why it was happening because I was so young. But now that I'm 16, I understand. But anyway, that isnt my worry right now. My dream of moving to paradise has finally came true! I wonder how long it will take to get there. I pressed the lock button on my iPhone 5 and saw that it was 8:45. This is gonna be a long drive.
