Sherman And The Giant Cookie

Sherman's adventure

Once upon a time, there lived two best friends Sherman and Mr. Mouse.

They lived in a small village called cookie land. Sherman and Mr Mouse used to play together and lived in Sherman’s’ grandmother’s house. Everyone in the village called her granny. Granny used to bake yummy cookies. Every day, Sherman and Mr Mouse would invite their friends to eat the cookies granny made. One day, when Sherman called their friends, no one came. So Sherman and Mr Mouse went to look for them. They called their friends’ names out loud. On the way there, Mr Mouse found footprints that led deep into the dark forest. Sherman and Mr Mouse were so scared. They ran back home and told granny.



Their granny said” that forest is big and dangerous and no one is allowed to go there.”
“Why aren’t people allowed to go there” Sherman asked his granny. His granny answered
“A long time ago, your great-great-great grandfather's used to bake the most delicious cookies in all of cookie land.



Everyone loved his cookies. One day, he decided to bake a giant cookie so that everyone could eat some.



At midnight, that night, lightning struck his house and he was scared so he woke up, put on the lights and checked the house but the cookie was not there. He called everyone in the village and asked them “who took the cookie” everyone didn’t know where the cookie went. In the morning, as the children were playing, they found footprints going into the forest.

They were big footprints that looked like those of a giant. The children went to explore and find out what was walking around in the village. When they didn’t come back, people sent the village warriors to look for the children in the forest. That night, when the village warriors went to look for the children, they didn’t come back. They started calling that forest the dark forest because it swallowed people all the time they went near it and everyone was terrified of it. After that, every year, those same footprints appeared at around this time and not only are the cookies lost, but also the children disappear. We don’t know where they went but we believe the dark forest swallowed them. So, my child, that’s why no one is allowed to play near that forest.”
Sherman and Mr Mouse didn’t sleep wondering how they were going to get their friends back. They missed their friends and were going to find out how to get them back. ‘’you know what mr mouse? Sherman said we are going to wait and see what comes out of the dark forest at midnight.” They waited the first night but they were both too tired, they slept before midnight. The same happened on the second night.
Mr Mouse suggested” let us take turns watching while we wait for midnight.” ” great idea Mr Mouse I will go first” Sherman said. Sherman watched first and when Mr Mouse took his turn, it was so cold that he started dozing off. At midnight, he heard a sound of footsteps walking towards them. He woke Sherman up and they saw a giant cookie man coming out of the forest. He was beautiful and shiny with many colors on him. The giant cookie man went to all houses collecting cookies and from every house, little children followed him. When he reached their house, they hid under a bush. After collecting cookies, he walked back to the forest.
The followed the giant cookie man into the dark forest. They were so scared. The giant cookie man started singing as he walked into the forest. Every time he heard someone coming, he turned but saw nothing. Sherman and Mr Mouse tiptoed after giant cookie man. When they reached giant cookie man’s house they were amazed. The house was built with cookies, biscuits and sweets. They looked around but giant cookie man was not there. So they started walking to the house but as they got near, giant cookie man came out of nowhere shouting “there you are.” The children screamed so scared “ahhhhhhhh.” Giant cookie man said “don’t be scared I am not going to eat you. Come in.” they followed the giant cookie man into the house. When they entered, they saw a big room and all the people that were lost were there. Sherman saw James and Mumba his friends eating ice cream.
He asked them” what are you guys doing here? Are you okay?” Mumba was so happy he shouted “Sherman and Mr Mouse you came! We are sorry we didn’t come for you but this place is so nice. We eat sweets and biscuits all the time.” Mr Mouse asked “but don’t you miss your families? They are looking for you.” James was sad when he answered” yes we do. But cookie man would be sad if we leave. He has no friends.” “The whole village and your parents are sad right now.” Sherman said.
“What should we do?” they asked. Sherman came up with a brilliant idea “why don’t we talk to our parents and ask them if cookie man can come to the village any time he likes and we can also come visit him here in his chocolate house?” all the boys agreed so they went to talk to mr cookie man and tell him their plan. Mr Cookie man was so happy he allowed and sent them home with a lot of cookies and chocolate.
When the children reached the village, Sherman’s granny was crying. The whole village was looking for them. Their granny was so happy to see them. She asked them where they have been and they told her what happened. “I am disappointed that you didn’t tell me about it first Sherman because that was dangerous.” Their grandmother said. “I am sorry for making you worry granny. I just wanted to help my friends.” Sherman answered. ”it is okay as long as you learn that you talk to elders first before going on a dangerous adventure.” “Okay granny”. The whole village sat and decided that Mr Cookie man can come to the village anytime and play with the children. From that day forward, Mr Cookie man and the villagers were friends forever.
