"Arriana, this is what we have to do." Cato tells me, grabbing my arm.

"I can't do it," I cry, "I can't let you guys all die for me. It's not going to happen."

"It is happening, whether you want it to happen or not. This is what has to be done!" Cato raises his voice. Somehow, it's just quiet enough not to wake up anyone else.

"I'd rather kill myself before you die for me. You're the one who should be getting out alive, no one else but you. You deserve this. I mean, you volunteered, didn't you?" I state. That was before I knew we'd be fighting eachother to the death. But yet, I'm still not going to let him die for me.

A few more days in the cave pass. We've been scavenging and hunting for supplies. Luke's really good with mines, so he set some up to protect the goods. Cato hasn't brought up what would happen to us once there was no one else to kill off. We haven't even talked much at all. Only when we're both up at the same time on guard. Everyone's had their hands tied trying to help with the mines. One cannon's gone off. The FoxFaced girl from District 5. There's only 9 of us left, and I'm 'thrilled'.

I'm guessing we've been guarding the pyramid for a few hours. No one's really talking. No one has anything to say, until Marvel breaks the silence. "Guys, do do you see that?!" He asks excitedly. My head turns to try to catch the reason for his excitement. Smoke. The gray against the blue of the sky. A smile forms on my face. Finally, something, or someone, decent to kill.

"Luke, stay here." Cato says. I catch a curve of his lips as well. "Clove, Arriana, Marvel, and I have got this one." Marvel reaches for his spear. Cato picks up a sword, while Clove and I reach into our boots for our knives. Clove takes off first, with me right behind her. I could guess that the guys were right behind us, as I could tell by how loud their footsteps were. More minutes of running led to our destination, a large bonfire of sticks and leaves. Surrounding the pile, we see there's no one there.

"Guys, there's more." I say, spotting more smoke in the clouds. "Let's go." I sprint off in hope the 3 would follow me. Again, nothing. This happens 2 more times before we decide to head back to Luke. That's when we hear it, the ear piercing boom. I didn't know it yet, but this was the explosion ruining our past few days' work. Marvel's sprinting first, Cato and Clove following. I finally get over the shock and follow them back through the trees. Cato's yelling before I can even speak, at Luke.

"This is all your fault! Why couldn't you just do what you're told and watch the pyramid?" Cato yells, the veins in his neck pop out.

"I did watch it!" Luke replies, just as sternly.

"Yeah, watched it perish!" Cato screams again.

"It came out of nowhere, I swear! I couldn't have done anything to stop it." Luke screams. He's such a wreck. I've never seem him this bad. Cato's anger takes control of himself. Why doesn't anyone else try to stop him? He's up in Luke's face now, slandering him with words and spitting as he screams into Luke's cold, brown eyes.

"Damnit, Cato! Stop it! Both of you need to calm down! We need to stick together, the 5 of us. Please, just knock it off." I beg, stepping inbetween the 2 boys as they fight it out.

"I can't do that, Arrie!" Cato points accusingly. "He's ruined our chances at survival. He's ruined everything!"

"You can't just blame him." I sigh.

"I can't? Watch me, Arriana. Watch me blame him for destroying everything we had saved! Look! I'm blaming him right now." Cato screams. "Right now."
