Chapter 1: Introductions

I've never really thought of myself as being strong.

I was always looked at as a weak orphan so that's what I thought of myself. I was just some weak homeless nobody. Never had a real family either. My mother was a teen pregnancy who actually thought of adoption other than abortion. Thank god for me right?

 I didn't think so.

Despite that the first home I lived in after being given to my "parents" straight from the womb went to hell real quick once the husband cheated on the wife and left her for a younger girl in San Francisco. The bastard didn't even think to leave a note.

The wife soon went insane and gave me up saying she wasn't a fit mother anymore. Figures. I was only six at the time so I was placed into the FCS or short for Foster care system which once consisted of a single "loving" older lady by the name of Bertha and five other kids that was aged from one to nine.

That's where I met Wire and no I don't mean Wire as in the piece of metal.

He was the strongest kid in the house which was pretty easy to be since the only other "guy" in the house was two year old William. Plus he was eight, I was six so I pretty much looked up to him as a god.

I was a tomboy even then so me and him would pick fights from time to time that ended with him getting a black eye and me getting some ruffed up shins. It was pretty fun times despite the fact that old lady Bertha wasn't much in the parenting department considering the fact that her entire life was spent raising cats. Which reflected upon us being petted and held sometimes like cats in which I never let myself be involved with and neither did Wire.

Then one day Ms. Foster agent came for a prospective adoption, and me being the small blonde seven year old girl in a pink ruffled skirt (That Miss B unfortunately got a few scratches for trying to put on me), was immediately thought of as "cute" and adopted like a puppy from a pet shop. While Wire being tall for his age of nine with boyishly handsome features, (that would present him with the face of a god in the future by the way) dimples, dark black bed mussed hair and bright blue eyes, made him a sucker for the same woman who adopted me.

I was glad that I wouldn't have to live with that crazy want-to-be young mom by myself and to tell you the truth I think Wire was happy that he didn't have to be rid of his tomboyish slave.

The first thought that came to my mind as soon as we came to the house was the changes. What would or will she change about us now that we belonged to her? But, we both noticed early that wasn't going to be a problem when the first thing  she told us was that she didn't mind Wire's name, since she was an ex-goth in her younger years and she thought it was "cool". While she was like that I actually kind of liked her until she began to underestimate me due to my height and looks and that led to her perceiving me as the sweet and quiet type. She was obviously wrong and she soon found that out quick once she set us up into a school and already had to head to it because of me the very first week. I guess it was supposedly wrong to dump paint onto another student's head even if she insulted you by calling you and your brother "stupid orphans". What's up with that?

Well pretty much that relationship went into a downward spiral after several other incidents, but with Wire he was pretty much the quiet one at school so he was her pick me up after my failures. When he was ten he began to walk around with books and these new glasses "Mom" got him since he was pretty much blind when it came to reading up close. I thought he looked nerdy, yet I never said it to his face since I would always expected a kick in the knees afterward. But, some girls in his grade called him cute and looking back and comparing to now I absolutely and one-hundred percently (if that's even a word) know they were right but, just not the right word if you know what I mean.
