I finally made it.
New York, the city that I had always dreamed of living in, was now under my feet.
It seems so much bigger in person. With the rush of people around you, you feel invisible, but a part of something bigger all at the same time.
The air was crisp and chilly, a feeling that I was not very used to considering most of my life has been spent in the suburbs of Jacksonville, Florida. I was ready for a change of pace.
Don't get me wrong. I love Florida and I always will, but I'm ready for something bigger. The hustle and bustle of the Big Apple has always appealed to me.
Maybe it's my naivety speaking when I have nothing but hope for living in such a new place. New York is a place of dreams. At least for musically inclined people such as myself.
Today, it's finally real.
I stepped out of the uber I took from the airport and straighten out my dress, wiping my hands down the front. Retrieving my bags from the seat next to me, I closed the car door and walked towards the front of my new apartment complex.
I open the Uber app and give the driver 5 stars. Yeah, he seemed to like small talk but I can never seem to give a driver less than 5 stars.
You never know what someone's story is, and I like to see the best in people. You never know how a couple stars could impact someone.
A few more struts forward and I was dragging my suitcases up a flight of stairs to my new home. Apartment 214.
It took me a few tries to actually get the key in my door and twist it to open it correctly. Shoving all my luggage through the door and into the room was another challenge but eventually I was settled.
Since the apartment came furnished I didn't have much to worry about with moving in.
I planned to go out later to shop for decorations and things for my home.
For now i sat in the middle of my living area and looked at my phone for the time.
10:56 P.M.
I was feeling pretty tired from all the traveling and thinking about turning in early.
I slowly helped myself off of the floor and walked to the window, looking out to the city for a moment before retiring to my queen sized bed.

I know this chapter was not very long. Future chapters are definitely going to be much longer. Right now I'm just building the basics of the story so chapters might be shorter.
