Sitting on a frozen pond
Listening to their skipping stones skid and screech on its jagged surface.
It won't stop,
I can't get out.I'm trapped in the middle of this nightmare.
I can taste my salty tears before they freeze on my cracked skin
God, help us
It is so cold. The safety and security they once gave me has been stripped and replaced with frost and clenched teeth.
I want you to tell me why they don't care.
I'm here! I sayNo response.
I bang my fists into the ice.
There is so one there to save me.
Not anymore, so I run
I can feel the cold growing in my lungsFollowed by fire.
I can feel myself falling, relaxing
Oh good, I think to myself.
I will leave the wasting world behind me.
