Chapter 21 - Kya why?

Back at the Tribe, everyone else was back in the house, they were waiting for Talia, no one had seen her in a while and Katara was beginning to get worried for her youngest child.

"Tenzin, have you seen your sister?" Katara asked her son while they were in the kitchen preparing dinner.

"I haven't seen her since we left all split up earlier, mum" Tenzin replied pausing while in the middle of chopping the vegetables, looking up at his mother. "Ask, Kya she may know" he suggested before continuing cutting up the vegetables. Katara hummed in agreement, worried for her duel bending daughter, but passed it off as nothing, simply maybe she lost track of time while looking at the variety of stools and activities.

When it reached dinner time and Talia still hadn't turned up, Katara grew increasingly more worried.

"Does anyone know where Talia is?" Katara asked as she sat down, Kya looked hesitant and slightly guilty "Kya?" Kamara queried.

"I saw her ealier while i was with my fiends, and i- i" Kya hesitated with tears gently brimming her eyes.

"Kya?" Aang asked slightly worried what she was going to say.

"I may or may not have slightly teased her, or made fun of her" Kya continued quickly.

"Kya!" Katara stated outraged by what her daughter had told her.

"Calm down honey." Aang said to his Wife taking her hand and gently squeezed it. "What exactly did you say to her?" Aang queried.

"Well, um, i called her my annoying younger sister to Ura infront of her" Kya said quietly lookung down. "a-and then-n"

"And then what insulted her further and pushed her away like you always do" Tenzin said spitefully looking down at his food before looking up and straight into Kya's eyes challenginly as Kya looked up. Kya slowly and guiltily nodded.

"I-I told her to go play with her spirirt feinds as they're the only friends shes got" She said quietly in almost a whisper but still loud enough for them all to hear.

Aang sighed "do you know where she went?"

Kya shook her head, "n-o she ran off, i dont know where" she replied still in a husged whisper, "i didnt think she's be gone this long, i dodnt think she'd get lost or something, i never meant to cause any harm to her" Kya defended with her voice slightly raised now and her hands placed firmly on the table in clenched fists "Well physically" she added as an after though quietly.

"alright, alright" Aang said rubbing his hand over his face and rubbing his nose from the stress of the whole situation.  "but why?" aang asked suddenly looking at Kya as she looked up quickly in shock.

"what?" Kya asked puzzled, as Katara and Tenzin looked on, both equally curious as to why Kya said those things.

"why, why did you say those things and act like that towards your sister?" Aang rephrased looking expectedly at Kya.

"um-um wel-ll" Kya hesitated she wasn't quite sure herself, or so she thought.

"yeah why?" Tenzin asked boldly, being quote protective of his airbending sister.

"u-uh-mm well you see" she hesitated again.

"Kya" Katara said softly, "you can tell us we wont judge"

"Kya honey tell us" Aang pushed for answers.

"I was jealous! OK!" Kya suddenly snapped and then froze upon what she said, Aang and Katara both with looks of shock plastering their faces.
