Fake Smiles

#15: Forgiven

Grayson wiped his tears away. His breath was caught in his throat. They all watched her closely. She no longer had the beanie Grayson gave her. She was hearing a black hoodie that covered her head. The beanie was thrown in the crash can in the far corner of the room. Part of it was hanging on the rim.

Grayson left to go visit her. He knocked on her door and waited for a response. "Go away! I want to be left alone!" The sound of her voice broke his heart: it was dry and raspy. She sounded broken.

Grayson opened the door and walked inside. Lily didn't move. He sat in front of her against the wall. He wasn't sure what to say. The love of his life was broken and lying in front of him.

"Lily?" He whispered. She went stiff at the sound of his voice. "I need you to speak to me. You're not well, you need help!"

"The best way to cure depression is love" she recited. "I thought I had healed. You took away all my pain, all the bad memories, all the loss. When I was with you, I felt like I had everything. I loved you with all my heart. You healed me... only to break me again".

"You should have thought about that before you cheated on me!" He exclaimed. "You're not the only one who thought they'd healed! I felt the same way! Until you crushed my heart..."

"I didn't cheat" she stated. "That guy kissed me. I was trying to push him away, but I couldn't. You would have known, if you'd let me explain. But you jumped to conclusions and thought the worst. The thing that hurt the most, was the fact that you actually believed it".

It was silent. More tears had escaped her eyes as she remembered their breakup. Grayson crawled over to her and pulled her into a hug. She cried into his chest. He rubbed her back as he calmed her down.

"Shh" he soothed. "It's not your fault. It's mine. I should have waited and let you explain. But I was too heartbroken to listen for an explanation. I guess I made it worse. You deserve better than me. You're perfect, and deserve to be treated perfectly. You need a guy who will treat you perfectly. I'm not that guy".

"I don't want anyone else" she said. "I don't care if my lover isn't perfect. I don't need to find someone else, because I found you. And you love me perfectly. That's all that matters".

They hugged for a while longer. She giggled a little. "This reminds me of the first time we met" she stated. A smile formed on his lips. He rested his head on hers and closed his eyes.

He placed a kiss on her head and said, "I love you".

She hugged him tight. "I love you too".

His smile vanished. "Please don't say that. It feels like you have to say it. I'm scared to loose you. Please say something else".

"I love you more than words can explain" she smiled at him. His gorgeous smile returned. He pulled her into a kiss. They then cuddled for a while before they decided to get something to eat.

They left the therapist to go to the pizza place down the street. They walked down with Ethan, hand in hand. They sat inside and ordered their pizzas.

That night, the three of them slept in Lily's room at the therapist. They placed blankets on the floor with pillows. They sat down and began playing games.

They spent the whole night laughing and playing games. They finally fell asleep at around 5am. Lily fell asleep with Grayson's arms wrapped around her body. Ethan was sleeping next to Grayson. The twins were snoring, but Grayson was louder.

They all woke up at 12pm. They went out to get lunch. They then went to the apartment to clean themselves. Lily was lying in Grayson's bed while he was in the shower. The bathroom door opened to reveal Grayson with a towel around his waist.

He smiled at her as he entered the room. "Your turn!" He exclaimed. She smiled at him as she made her way into the bathroom. She got in the shower and let the hot water run down her body. The water felt amazing. It seemed to wash away all the bad memories.

She got out the shower and changed in the bathroom. She walked into the bedroom to see Grayson asleep on his bed. She smiled at him. She walked over and lay next to him. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him.

She took in his scent as they cuddled. Eventually, they fell asleep. They woke up to Ethan jumping on them. He was waking up Grayson to film a video. They got up and got the equipment.

They sat down and started recording. They spoke about what happened with Lily and wanted everyone to not give her any hate. They filmed for 15 minutes. Lily watched the whole thing. She smiled as Grayson spoke about how much he cared for her.

They ended the recording and began to edit. As they were uploading it to YouTube, Grayson and Lily saw a new video. But it was just Ethan. It was titled 'Problems'. It had millions of views.

Grayson took the mouse off Ethan and clicked the video. The video started. Ethan was sitting in his room. He spoke about what had happened with Grayson and Lily, but not about the part of Lily kissing another guy. He said that they had broke up because of an incident. He explained how Grayson felt and how he was coping.

When the video ended, Grayson pulled Ethan into a hug. Lily was wiping away the tears she had. The brothers hugged. Grayson pulled away and thanked his twin.

They spoke about that video for a while, before uploading the new video. They got onto their SnapChats and informed their fans about the video. They got off their phones and went into the living room to watch Netflix.
